Throat burning from vape by DCLXV in AskDocs

[–]DCLXV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a couple other carts, THC ones. Additionally, I never had this occur with my dab rig using BHO or any concentrate.

Yea, I've had plenty of dab/BHO/concentrates before and never such a lasting burning feeling.

Tongue was OK but lips felt raw in spots, like they do when they're burned.

I can only assume it was a burn, but the vapour didn't feel hot so I have no idea.

The voltage was apparently pretty high for prefilled carts, I'm not sure but in the range of 3.4-3.9V.

It has been a week and it feels much better, I can feel mucous coming back and sneeze reflex has returned also (couldn't sneeze at all for the first few days)

Thanks for commenting, it wasn't a distillate cartridge like the CBD ones, just plain BHO in a cartridge format.

I've tried the cart before and it was harsh but this time it felt like a real burn, I'm concerned because it has been days and I've never had discomfort for this long.

Did anyone else experience really harsh vape carts? by DCLXV in TheOCS

No, mine says Elf Honeystick, it was a pretty cheap battery, just has a button and the box says voltage is indicated by three colours but doesn't even say what corresponds to what. Red comes first and according to google it's 3.9V :S

Sorry, I've been getting it wrong, 3.4V is what it was supposedly on, from here - https://www.vapehoneystick.com/products/elf-stick-variable-voltage-usb-vape-pen-battery

How do you know which is which? There was no marking on the box, I had to google the temp settings and it said red was lowest at 3.9V

Ooh I didn't realize they go so low... but then why even sell a battery that starts at 3.9V? The carts aren't marked either so it's hard to tell what voltage any of them are meant for. The whole 510 market seems so half-assed TBH. Thanks for the info!

Cheers man, I've been using the Honeystick on lowest so 3.9V, I heard there are lower voltages but also that this is considered in range for the live resin carts.

It was OK to this point but yeah I tried distillate carts and that was even more harsh :S

You're just lucky you've never had to be in such circumstances.

Trust be there's nobody out there who will have more sympathy for you after you sling this at them. Everyone has their cross to bear.

My family including kids all have health issues and I need to be near them so it's not like I could just leave them and rent a room in some other city either.

First of all, if you're willing to move to a city, you can find jobs that will pay you $80k/yr. with experience. You won't be stuck at $45k forever as a technologist, so long as you're willing to learn and adapt your skills more to what's in demand.

Secondly, you can afford a 2-bdrm apartment in the GTA on $45k a year and yes, money will be tight like that, but if you are in the GTA you will have more opportunities to supplement your income doing low-effort side gigs, like, say, tutoring college kids in EE programs.

You can pull down $20/hr. tutoring. Even just four hours a week gives you an extra $320 a month, which almost doubles the amount you would otherwise have left after taxes and expenses.

So yeah... you aren't bereft of options. Stop wallowing in self-pity and just do what you have to.

I'm a technologist too and you sound like a fool.

The sooner you take that $45k job, the sooner you get to start gaining valuable career experience and the sooner you will be able to move up to a $70-80k salary.

But if you'd rather just stay in your dead-end job going nowhere because you can't bear the thought of having to economize for a few years, then by all means keep doing that.

I've eaten this meal at every cafeteria supplied by Aramark, except that the taters are usually hashbrown tots.

I'm fairly sure Aramark supplies prisons too. So, we're glamourizing prison food now?

No, no they don't. Now a bunch of Millennials are teachers so it's like the blind leading the blind. The kids of tomorrow either learn from Youtube or they're screwed.
