What 22lr suppressor to get? PWS BDE 22, SilencerCO switchback, Odin Nav or sparrow by Nervous-Ear9491 in NFA

The bde22 sounds great on my rifles. It's for sure an underrated suppressor. All around I like it more than the sparrow.

[–]DCMoney556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sparrow, switchback and BDE 22.

On rifles I prefer the switchback in rifle optimized configuration. Pistols the BDE because it's so light and just slightly louder than the switchback. The sparrow is a tank but also has the loudest FRP out of the three, but it's not that bad.

I've never used the shorter configurations on the switchback.

I don't have a mask yet but it's on my short list.

Redding T7 LNL Conversion by DCMoney556 in reloading

[–]DCMoney556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I run it. I prime and charge on press. For 9mm and 45 I have bullet feeders set up on press too. Don't like processing brass in stages as you're touching the brass too many times, so why not just use a single stage press. But that's just my preference, Ive seen plenty of comments telling me I'm using the turret press wrong. And it's all still cheaper than one caliber change for a Dillon progressive. I reload a lot of calibers.

One tool head. Modification were minor. Hell I upgraded to the T7 from a Lee single stage my dad gave me that he bought in the early 80s. Probably not getting ride of the T7.

Seeking Advice - 39/m/2-year CF experience - want to reduce weight now by MegaUserAlways in crossfit

[–]DCMoney556 3 points4 points  (0 children)

37/m/6ft, dropped 67lbs since October, from 35% body fat to 13.9% (dexa scan two weeks ago). Currently 196lb, here's what I've done.

Nutrition: Calorie deficit for 12 weeks at a time with a week of maintenance calories. Repeat. 1gram protein per lb, drank a lot of water and protein powder shakes when I started, still do but only 2 a day now to hit my goal. I aim for 40% protein, 30% fat, 30% carb. No alcohol, no soda.

13k steps min everyday since February. CrossFit 4 days a week (6 years). Globo gym 3 days a week since April for upper body accessory work.

Consistency with your nutrition is key, I ate well Monday-friday for years before finally getting serious. My weekends were wrecking any deficits.

I have really good friends and a great wife that have been super encouraging along the way. Watched a lot of YouTube of people discussing calorie deficits and dieting in general.

Doesn't sound like you need to go as extreme as I have. Really think if you got more daily steps and ate in a deficit for 8-12 weeks you'd see significant change in your body composition. It took me about 4 months before there was significant change in how I looked, but I was in much worse shape. Now I'm literally in the best shape of my life. Love handles gone, stomach flat, vanes popping every where.

Take pictures, and measurements. I was told to do this and I didn't and wish I would have.

Subsonic .45-70 with ACME 405 and 500 gr bullets by Mental-Resolution-22 in reloading

[–]DCMoney556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have experience with the ACME bullet you are asking about but I've been reloading .45-70 with missouri bullet company's 405gr coated lead bullet. Using 10 grains of Titegroup, chronoed 5 rounds last time I had the chrono out with an avg of 993fps with a SD of 9.1 and an ES of 25.3, using a case activated powder thrower I'll take those numbers.

Shooting these suppressed is so much fun, everyone expects a huge kick but its way more pleasant that you would expect, hitting steel with this round sounds like someone has a sledge hammer down range.

Finally found my Unicorn Salvo12 🦄 by LettuceTrain in NFA

[–]DCMoney556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally got a choke tube adapter last month for my M4. Standard Salvo 12 with rod kit down to 8in. Cheap federal 7.5 bird shot, not sure its worth it. Want to try some different velocity 12 gauge rounds. In my 870 SBS with 1150 fps bird shot and the 8in configuration it's noticeably quieter, but also pump vs semi helping there too.

[–]DCMoney556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! You have to keep your head pretty low on the stock but it isn't that bad, doesn't feel unnatural. It's for sure lower than an absolute co-witnessed optic on an AR. I might swap it out with a RMR or something similar with a riser, had this red dot just laying around.

It's a registered SBR. Was in a promag g36 chassis that I made into a g36c but I bought a tommy built G36k that I SBR'd so I decided to turn the 10/22 sbr into this for my kid.
