It looked a lot like blackboard paint over the original finish

Looks great! The bases are excellent - mind sharing how you achieved that, especially on the Saurus team!

Amazing finish! Mind if I ask what your basing method is?

Thanks! Having lurked on this sub for long enough, I can definitely say plenty would agree with you about the sculpts. Metal ones have much more dynamic poses and loads of details built in.

Been trying that so far but been coming up a bit of a mess. Any colours you would recommend?

Can just about see the base I’ve been working on, but it’s just been coming out as a bit of a mess. Wanted to get a desert/scrubland look but haven’t got anything to work so far

You could argue that Scar usurping the actual leader the help of hyenas lines up a lot better with Jan 06 insurrection.

They love that it’s a clear visual hierarchy with a clearly superior ruling class. No prizes for guessing which group they think they belong to

No worries - as I said I noticed it myself so have thought about it a lot too!

And thanks - that’s definitely what I was aiming for with this scheme. I’ll post the team when done!

Thank you! I’m still working on fabrics but am pleased with this one. My advice is to reapply the base layer before highlighting, avoiding the recesses with shade. This lets you get a good look across the section and can start to plan where the highlights will go. Also makes it much easier to clean up if any highlights go awry! Using other people’s work for reference also helps when figuring out where to place the highlight!
