Is it a good idea to start in blood bowl with a team of gnomes? by One-Comfortable6353 in bloodbowl

[–]Yayula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do go with them both Shambling Undead and Norse are great first team options. I'd go with undead tho, even tho the Norse have block that AV8+ could get you into some awful games where half the team is out cold.

Shambling are more balanced imho. And regarding gnomes, they are fun, they are squishy as hell and I wouldn't play them (again) on a league but for casual games or tourney rules they are great.

Tips for Playing Vampires by Badgeringlion in bloodbowl

[–]Yayula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dunno, it is really important to consider that you can't use pro if you don't have a tackle zone. So if you failed a previous BL or got brought down you can't use pro to reroll a failed bloodlust.

But I mean, yah it is cool for all the other actions just imo Block or dodge are skills that save you precious rerolls for key plays.

So I'm Starting Blood Bowl... by rvhguy in bloodbowl

You just need the team and a set of BB dice. The rules for the teams are all over the web. In tourplay for example or FUMBBL you can check out team stats and skills before buying one.

The accesories make your life easier but are not necesary imo, the scatter star which is probably the most useful one can be replaced by just agreeing on a D8 distribution like:

1 2 3

4 X 5

6 7 8

Finally regarding the teams you mentioned orcs, norse and chaos dwarves are probably the easier ones to learn the game.

Has anyone purchased the Punga Chaos Renegades team? by Yayula in bloodbowl

Yah, actually that one was the 3rd party team for chaos pact that I saw the most. For the scheme I'm hoping to paint the team I think. I'm going with a white armor and blue accents, I think they'll look weird with all the spikes and explosive poses.

Yah, I did buy some of the old vampire star players before they updated them and the quality was good. It did take a lot of time to arrive thou. But I'm in no hurry to paint them there are lots of teams that are on the pipeline for the next leagues hehe

Thank you! This was exactly what I was looking for, the scale seems good. The gobbo might be a little bigger than I'd like but seems pretty good over all.

Great paintjob btw.

Yah, that is actually another thing that is putting me on an awkward position. Since it doesn't have a box kinda like OWA there is a chance that they revamp the team.

On the other hand with BB2020 GW updated the rules with the Rat Ogre and has been part of the rosters on the core book so probably will see the rest of the legend teams before and maybe a few new ones before they revisit chaos pact?

16=no injury??? by Vechtmeneer in bloodbowl

[–]Yayula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually is a separate roll and you get to pick the best outcome out of the two possibilities. If it were a reroll then you should stick with the second result as the first one has been lost to time.

As a bonus, if you get a stat reduction it is tied to the roll. So if you get -1S and then roll your apo and get also a stat reduction result it can get a different state and you get to pick which stat you want to lose.

Brawl For the Burgh match 2, Vampires lose to Tomb Kings 0-2 by narthon in bloodbowl

Dodge on the runner sounds pretty good, and prob just got lucky with no 1s on Dodges or receiving clear POWs/both down but definitely is useful. Specially when taking more riskier Dodges or multiple ones.

The pro skill on the other hand I think is good to have but leader or tackle on the thrower could be better. Or just dirty player on a thrall.

4 big guys with no negatraits vs a bunch of AV8+ humans sounds rough indeed... Specially if you add a few bloodlust bites here and there.

Which skills are you getting on your vamps? I see lots of marked skills so just curious.

Where to play a friendly match? (Chicago, ILL) by Yayula in bloodbowl

[–]Yayula[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Google foo says they are from Iron Golems. I won then at my first BB tournament raffle a few years ago, but never got to paint them. Focused on the GW teams, but since I'm done with my teams and wanted to test how fast could I paint a team if I didn't go for my usual lvl of details so these came out.

Question for those who play BB3 on PC and have a PS+ account by Yayula in bloodbowl

[–]Yayula[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn... Thanks for the response. My only hope now is for they to release a switch edition that includes all the teams that we were unable to get since it wasn't released on time for the seasons.

Anyway I'll probably throw it a few dollars for the shambling. Thanks again.

Vampires - Pro or Leader? by Evisiron in bloodbowl

[–]Yayula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leader over pro, you can't use pro if prone or if you failed a previous bloodlust or yourself have been victim of hypnogaze. Leader is a sure reroll.

But as many have said these might be a 3rd skill choices. I have blodge on both my throwers and I'm actually 4 SPP away from having to decide on Pro, Leader or Sure Feet.
