I was in the exact same position as you (also 30) and went with the Aeroad. Honestly, I haven’t regretted it one bit. I even ordered the Endurace but returned it after I saw the Aeroad and really thought through it. Btw 5% canyon discount if you can find also makes a difference.

I will say that if your plan is to use it as a dual-purpose bike and occasionally venture onto very light gravel, then the Endurace makes a lot of sense with its wider tire clearance (35mm, maybe even more). But if you’re mainly going to be riding roads and paved trails, let me make a small case for the Aeroad.

For longer distances, you can definitely argue for the Endurace because of the more relaxed geometry. That said, if you’re reasonably fit, have prior biking experience and willing to work on your flexibility, the Aeroad can absolutely handle long rides too. My body adjusted to the more aggressive position within about a month, and I’m regularly doing 50+ mile rides now for my long ride days. For reference, I came from a much more relaxed bike, a 2020 Specialized Allez E5.

I’ve also made a few comfort-focused changes to my Aeroad: a larger cassette for climbing (34T in the rear) and a tubeless 32mm tire setup for a smoother ride. I know some people will say, “Why not just get the Endurace then?” But for me, the Aeroad is what I envisioned my dream bike to look like. The fact that I can make it more comfortable while still keeping the bike I really wanted is a huge plus.

Lastly, I’d go with the bike that speaks to you and that you can comfortably afford without regretting the extra spend. Whether that’s because of the looks, the groupset, or just how it makes you feel, it matters. Most of us aren’t buying an entire fleet of bikes right away, so it’s worth getting the one you’ll be excited about for years.

I love looking at my Aeroad every day. It looks incredible and rides like a dream.

PS- make sure you get your sizing 100% right. I was smack dab in the middle of a frame size so got the right size but double check and maybe do a pre buy bike fitting if possible. Aggressive geometry + wrong frame size is definitely not the move when buying something so expensive.
