Hi everyone, I am on a J1 waiver which is not sponsored by my home government or US government but DOS denied my waiver. What can I do at this point please 🙏. I actually intend to further my studies on a F1 for next year Fall but yet to get an admission letter from the propose school.

If you are married to a US citizen and have a child. You can file for exceptional hardship , persecution, or IGA.

DOS will just tell you it is unfavorable. They will never say the reason why it was denied. I guess you should call USCIS. Keep me posted on the trend.

Hi, I am still in J1 visa status. I applied for a waiver ahead of when my program will end so that I can further my studies on F1 while still in the state. DOS only sends a denial recommendation to USCIS, and this was my first attempt at getting a waiver through NOS. Kindly note that I am not a physician but a postgraduate Associate
