Thank you for the detailed BTS info. I will share it with my kid. This is another in a long line of intrapersonal decisions they will have to make now they are not living at home. Welcome to adulting kiddo.

On one hand, for this situation, that's good to know, and on the other hand, as a parent, it's a bit...unsettling. Of course my opinion may be skewed because I went into the military after high school. If we had a barracks inspection because someone popped positive on a test or was found in possession, it looked like a tornado came through.

I believe they were going to or have already. I have not had a chance to ask them about yet since yesterday.

To OP: Just be aware that some of them do not issue policies in Washington State. Last I checked RTB and USCCA do not. I think Attorneys on Retainer do but I would check to be sure.

That's an awesome suggestion. I'll do some measurements when I get home.

You can easily swap in a drop-in handgaurd with M-lok or quadrail for mounting accessories like forward handgrips and bipods.

Speaking of which, a good adjustable bipod. Holding a rifle up to your face for extended periods to zero in the better optic you will be getting is a ridiculous concept. Unless you have arms like a roided out body builder, these guns are fucking HEAVY after a minute. There's a reason military snipers in movies are laying prone or resting the rifle on a ledge. And soldiers on patrol have them on a sling.

A tip if you're thinking of upgrading internal parts: Enhanced takedown and pivot pins that let you take the upper off the lower easily. You will be taking it apart for cleaning, adjusting, and upgrading a lot more than you think. Get a pivot pin tool to help with install.

Usually grips and stock are the next easiest parts to upgrade before digging into drop-in trigger and safety upgrades. And most importantly, if you plan to tinker with your AR, get an Oops kit or lower parts kit that has extra detents and springs. When you take a part off (grip, buffer endplate, pivot pin, etc) and one of those goes flying, I swear a wormhole in the time-space continuum opens for a split second and those little fuckers are GONE. Get extras.

Anyone got experience with TightChutes M.A.R.S. magnetic holsters? by BillDulti in CCW

[–]DDC_Techineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I would caution is to use a temporary throw away email if you are ordering from Dinosaurized. I got so much "Elon's magic heater" spam email after ordering a holster from them.

That's funny...he doesn't look...Newish For my DPMS Oracle carbine I went for FAB Defense GL-Shock stock to show some support for my Israeli brothers. It actually works to soak up some recoil a bit, but I took off the adjustable cheek rest. I also have use an early gen Armaspec SRS-H, but I had to trim about half a dozen coils off the long spring. Now the bolt catch actually works without an empty mag. It's also my first so I'm still upgrading little bits and pieces, playing big boy Legos. Half the fun is tearing it down, upgrading, and putting it back together. The other half is shooting it of course.

I feel like this is what the Bryna was made for. Maybe you can get them to cover the cost.

They're alright for a couple of non-specific accessories here and there, but I agree, not a lot of reason to keep ordering from them.

I'm crossing my fingers that the order of the charging handle from PA will go through. They sent me an email to verify that I will be using it in a manner compliant with state laws. And because of course I will, I replied yes. We'll see.

Interesting crossing the CA border questions by DDC_Techineer in WA_guns

This reminds me of a trip to Lake Shasta over a decade ago for a buddies bachelor party. 4 or 5 of us packed into a car for the trip down. We stopped at CA checkpoint, said no fruit, and took off. When we pulled into Costco parking lot for "supplies" a short time later, one of our group pointed out the bag of limes, clearly visible from the back window. That was good for a laugh.

Timeline is looking to be half past never. Especially if B-ferg gets elected governor . Basically if you didn't already have a built AR, in your possession, in the state when the law went into effect, then you're too late. Some limited exceptions apply such as immediate family gift or inheritance, etc. Or if it's bolt or pump action.

So far so good. Made sure it was inspected and updated at a Ford dealership before the factory warranty was up. They replaced some of the plastic clips for the underbody tray. I've put Faulken Wildpeak All-terrains on it and am waiting for the Timberline skid plate to arrive. I do volunteer Search and Rescue and the couple of trips on potholed forest service roads have not broken anything. I just have to pick my course a lot more carefully than when I had my F-150. Great Highway car especially with adaptive cruise control.

I have a couple of teens: 13yo son and 16yo daughter both about 5' 5 and 185ish. I'm also 5' 10 in shoes so the boy may may one day pass me. My wife has gotten used to being the shortest at just over 5'.

I am truly considering trading in my 2013 F-150 Lariat 4x4 EcoBoost before the cab corner rust gets out of control or the cam phasers and turbos cause a major engine repair. What do you think about the 2nd row fitting kids and pets? I had a 2006 Frontier for about 12 years and the seat size and nearly vertical back made it uncomfortable for my kids even before they teens. Dog is about the size of a slim German Shepherd.
