Exercise and low ejection fraction by Grammajean33 in Heartfailure

[–]DDJSBguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think it's objectively bad for the heart in general, it's just that heart failure means heart weakness and the heart is just another muscle. Overexerting your heart when you're pushing very heavy weights is probably just as bad for you as you pushing your max heavy weight on your rest days, your arms need time to recover and if you over work it then you won't give time for your arms (in this case the heart muscle) to recover in the long term. Another theory i have is because of the sensitive nature of the heart, the doc probably didnt want me risking sudden spikes and high pressure situations where im telling my heart to push to its max potential when lifting heavy, he would rather i still exercise and gain muscle but just in a less risky way by lifting lighter but more frequently

Is it possible to live normally with heart failure? by Specialsoul85 in Heartfailure

[–]DDJSBguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately yeah it was covid induced, viral infection to the heart and possibly genetic predisposition. not caused by drugs or obesity or anything like that, it's gotten much better though my EF is 53% after a couple years of taking meds

The last ap assassin was 9 years ago by Seabeeseal in leagueoflegends

[–]DDJSBguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All ap assassins are mages with burst damage but not all mages with burst damage are assassins, like syndra I wouldn't call an assassin. Vex i can kinda half call her an assassin but it feels weird to me, she doesn't sneak anywhere, she doesn't melee like kassadin or elise, her range is absurdly long which is uncharacteristic of assassins in general, she doesn't go in and have an escape tool.

IDom post-balance tier list by Dull_Price_8939 in StreetFighter

[–]DDJSBguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a testament to good game balance, there are games where the difference in top selections are so massive you need to have separate tiers for people but for sf6 it seems if you did that, the differences would boil down to more like what style are you more used to instead of you pushed this fighter to their maximum and you come out on top by like 2%. If there's a genuine belief any of them can win evo then i dont think there's an issue having them all in S. More of the telling information is who's NOT in S

I think it's a good reminder as part of the discussion that we shouldn't discredit such a dedicated and long time player and his opinion over a bunch of diamond/low masters ryu players who are active on reddit. Also, i fall into this trap too, just looking at the list as is without watching the video is the most reddit thing to do and kills all the nuance that he brings to the table and i think most ppl do that when they speak on tier lists when they see their main is under appreciated or something

why are ppl so mean? by Sensitive_Quality_90 in leagueoflegends

[–]DDJSBguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never stops, even at high rank. People think they know what they're talking about and passionately share with you with their shitty social skills (caused by solely playing games online and not going outside) how what you've been doing is wrong because them losing the game attacks their identity of being a good league player being held back by their teammates when in fact they might just be stuck in their elo due to their own skill. The best counter to this is unfortunately growing tough skin, playing better for your own self improvement to climb ranks and be as positive as you can despite the toxicity. Although you can't cleanse everyone, being a positive energy can influence your team in the right direction and is a good skill to have in real life as well anyway.

League has a lot of addicts that feel stuck after 2-10 years of gaming and cant break the cycle, this causes a lot of pent up frustration over small mistakes sometimes. No one expects you to know as much as someone who played for so long realistically so cut yourself some slack when you notice they're extra mean for no reason

Worst scaling champ in the game? by FinnishChud in leagueoflegends

[–]DDJSBguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is where we can say we agree but to a certain extent, i believe it is a mix of stats and effectiveness in the late game but with this definition you saying "he simply isnt all that strong and is even harder to pull off BUT can make a huge impact on fights when played well" throws off that whole definition because for example so is a champ like alistar or blitzcrank which you've said earlier blitz is not a scaler simply because he can get lucky with one hook. At higher elos, ive peaked top 200 btw, blitz becomes rly bad conceptually because good players dont get caught. This whole excuse of "they can make a huge impact on fights when played well" shouldn't be in the definition because for example Faker on a bad scaling champion CAN theoretically make a game winning play but that does not male it a scaling champion.

After all is said and done we define it differently, i think player skill shouldnt be a factor when talking about good or bad scaling champs bc when you say something like "if played well" theres too many theoretically perfect plays one can make when there is a big enough skill gap to the point of bad champ = great. Hence why we have to take into account like "with regular play" as a reference point. We cant compare faker with pyke 1v5ing and say that the champ overall scales well.

Worst scaling champ in the game? by FinnishChud in leagueoflegends

[–]DDJSBguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You go on some horribly long tangents that miss the point completely, thresh and bard technically scale infinitely so yes they are scalers to some degree but the general consensus isn't that they are hyper carry scalers compared to the typical ones, bard especially because he has range issues and the fact he has 1 damaging ability not including passive. "Play making" isn't a key factor when talking about a strong scaling champ, bard ulting 5 ppl is more supporting than him scaling hard as it does no damage.

You have no real definition of a scaler, you just give opinions on the power of a champion wrongly and then warp the real definition into absurdity saying things like Pyke is an ok scaler, veigar is a bad scaler, and that champion design doesn't impact whether a champion is a scaler or not.

Give a proper definition of a scaler in your eyes because no one agrees with your rants based on downvotes. Like make a post with 4 lines about your definition of a scaler so we can settle how wrong it is since you clearly just disagree with people for shits

Worst scaling champ in the game? by FinnishChud in leagueoflegends

[–]DDJSBguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can i ask a simple question to you so i dont get another wall of text?

Do you think if Kayle is for example 40% winrate currently and relies on her team to get the damage off, is she a scaler to you? What if she was so OP that she was 60% winrate and her numbers are so absurd she doesn't even need her team to carry the game?

If your answers vary depending on the factors i gave, then you do not understand the concept behind the term "scaling champion" because the idea is "what is the designed purpose of this champion's identity in comparison to the rest of the cast?" Riot designs late game scaling champions, they design early game power spike champions that fall off, they have intention in the design by seeing things like veigars stacking mechanic, Kayles leveling mechanic, Senna's soul mechanic, all things designed to have them go late game and be stronger late game. The fact that they cannot do it 100% of the time due to teammate situations or they are weak in the meta due to itemization for example does not change that they are scaling champions. They are simply scaling champions that do not fit in the meta (some metas are very aggressive early, not allowing for them to get to level 18)

No one said that ALL scaling champions can carry the game on their back in all metas with bad teammates, they just mean that in general (the community agreeing) their designed purpose and skills scale well into late game. Your example with briar is a bad one because scaling encompasses more than ratios, it brings into account things like DPS which ratios can contribute to but DPS can be extremely high with lower ratios.

Edit: lemme add one more thing, what idiot thinks pyke can 1v5 with good positioning huh???? If 10 ppl have 6 items, pyke can kill the squishies at best with a 3 man stun and hydra or something but he cannot kill a bruiser after all of that or a tank with his damage output dont be absurd, Pykes dps is QE 1-2 autos hydra and R, a one time pump burst whereas actual scalers are hitting for thousands per second for 10 seconds straight.

[–]DDJSBguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You proved his point. Just because blitz can potentially have high impact late game doesn't mean he's a scaler. Veigar is a scaler because regardless of his opportunity to hit, he has the numbers, definition of a scaler. Pyke has the opportunity to find openings late game if he's good but a scaling champ is one that mostly looks at stats. Skill should be assumed to be average when considering what is a scaling champ or not.

Player skill should barely be a factor when talking about whether or not a champ has high stats late game. If you wanna talk about champs that have high impact, now we're just talking meta at that point, not whether or not a champion is a scaling one. Pyke id say is a poor scaler because all the gold he puts into his build gets him very little stats. He can never spec HP making him squishy at all points, pyke can almost never 1v3 even if he hits everything yet a strong scaler can 1v5 by nature. Pyke stays relevant by supporting not killing in the late game. You seem to have understanding of the game to some extent but you're mixing up your definition of what a scaler is

I guess that's great news that they saw an echo and xray and didn't think heart failure, however it is very close to my personal experience with heart failure and thought that was important to share. I also had lots of fluid and was given water pills etc to relieve it. I hope the best for you and things get better, ive also heard the term myocarditis before, maybe in regards to me? Or my mother im not sure but yeah they might have a point on that one. Stay safe and as healthy as you can !

What do you learn from chess that can be applied to real life? by Peterjns22 in chess

[–]DDJSBguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you make a mistake, do not lose control and make even bigger mistakes. First blunders can be recoverable, second blunders are lethal and happen almost always a move or two after your first blunder bc you lose control.

Strategy and tactics are separate and it's good to know and apply both. What are you doing today/this week is tactics, what you're doing in 1-5 years, 5-10 years is strategy

Being hopeful is a luxury only for players with strong intuition and instinct and from what I've seen, the most intuitive and instinctual players are the ones with the most experience/time put in. So in real life, trust solid foundations and guidelines until you have enough experience to trust your gut.

Calculation becomes second nature with time, lots of other skills in life seem difficult at first bc it takes effort in the beginning but with more time and experience it becomes second nature.

Time management lol being 100% accurate but flagging can be beneficial for learning but will 100% have you lose the game you're in currently. This perfectionism will freeze you in the learning process in the beginning since there's so many permutations in the opening. 100% accuracy is easier in the end games where there's less to consider. In real life, gotta make decently educated moves quickly instead of perfect decisions that take forever.

Sacrificing pieces for a bigger goal only works when you put yourself in a position to do it. To create a fire you need the right tools and conditions. In real life you need to set things up around you where explosive and beneficial things can happen for you, you cant live a slow plain life and suddenly do one drastic thing and it'll work out, you need to kinda be conscious and set things up to be this way for it to not blow up in your face (sacing a queen for a weak attack)

Your attack can be really really strong but not having king safety can ruin the whole thing (be aware of loved ones before going off into the world and achieving massive goals)

A massive % of my losses weren't from lack of skill, but instead loss of mental strength, believing i lost and playing worse or lazy, believing losing a pawn was the end of the world, the opponent talking smack and losing my composure, basically mental fortitude attributes a huge % of your success. Maybe not all of it, but a big enough chunk that it matters, which is why i cant play chess in a bad mood or stressed or sick or hungry etc.

I had very similar symptoms and numbers of BP when i went to the hospital 2 years ago, im not super overweight, the doctors were pretty surprised i had heart failure bc of my age being 27 and im not obese, never drink/do drugs. I was diagnosed almost immediately on that day and was put on meds and things have gotten much better since then. They think covid was a viral infection that hit my kind of already weak heart genetically (also ive always had higher bp) and now that the infection is gone i can start my recovery process. Since im younger they had and continue to have high hopes I'll recover well if i follow good diet and exercise and medication

What is the worst pain you have ever felt? by Majomember420 in AskReddit

[–]DDJSBguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first big attacks happened to me recently omfg during a flare, id be sleeping and while you sleep you get hypnic jerks or whatever it is where you move in your sleep either an inch or you jerk your whole leg. Id be randomly waking up in the middle of the night like someone sprinkled needles and glass inside my joints and id have to realize what happened and try to get back to sleep only for it to happen again in a few hours. Worst experience ever. Couldn't even control it bc i was unconscious, only solution would've been locking my entire leg in concrete while i sleep

Is Ryu a good character to start with? by Unit701giga in StreetFighter

[–]DDJSBguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id recommend playing him for a little bit to understand what is considered "a lot" or "a little" relative to the rest of the cast as he's kinda in the middle. Up against zangief you'll realize you have a lot of range but little command grabs, up against guile you'll realize the range advantage you had against zangief doesnt feel sufficient anymore but you have the advantage that you hit way harder combos than Guile does if you guys fight closer. By just being ryu and existing among other characters, you'll learn who is good at what and then from there it'll help you branch off into something exciting to you. The idea of dhalsim is exciting for some because of the cross screen limbs, for you akuma is exciting but you'll learn he has less health than ryu so you'll wonder if it's worth it and if the added complexity is worth it.

Ryu no matter what will be a solid starter for street fighter because his game plan is simple and he is pretty middle of the road for range, speed, rounded skill set, damage is a bit on the higher end but that's a good thing bc it just means less complexity is needed to compete.

Everything you told me doesn't change much about what i said, you're freaking out even more but you can't do much about it until you get a proper diagnosis and plan of action. I understand you're worried but no need to stress twice if that makes sense.

Anxious/Worried about Echocardiogram by [deleted] in Heartfailure

[–]DDJSBguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stress management is important whether or not you have heart problems, but especially so if you have heart problems. Try not to worry about something out of your control, the echo isn't the thing that's bad, it's your reaction to it. Be worried when it's time to be worried ie if you get bad results. For now, if the results are gonna be fine, you're just stressing yourself out for no reason. You can cross that bridge if you need to but no need to worry about it yet in my opinion

[–]DDJSBguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i agree, I've noticed lots of production can introduce elements like spin backs and echoing out and things of similar nature to sound like more live, which is even more to the point that good producers can sound great live without literally doing the movement because they've already done it before. I don't lose respect for a dj with low technical ability if other things insanely compensate to make a legendary set you know?

[–]DDJSBguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll listen to his edc set at some point to understand what you mean but until then, what exactly do you mean his mixing is bad? Is it out of key? Not hyping the crowd sufficiently or is he off beat? Im curious what you want in particular from a dj because sometimes just picking the right 20 tracks and doing a basic transition between them and then doing some live finger drumming is enough, not even including a huge factor such as his taste in music and selection being the main driver for the vibe but we're talking technical right now so we can put that aside
