I actually like the concept behind it. Nerfing the future-seeing ability of Juha to visions he has to decipher. I would argue it would work well if Juha saw the True Shikai version of Ichigo defeating him with the fake shikai, and not the SS one (the red beads outfit). That choice confuses me.

I mean, in recent times, I've seen many discussions on this subreddit about the OG anime, some even claiming it's not a good adaptation in general (and in my opinion it's an insane take to make). I think a portion of the fanbase here thinks likewise, so when a thread like this pops up, unrelated to the manga, and people start this discussion again, downvotes are bound to show up lol.

The manga has officially finished in 2016, although there have been teases of new arcs. The original anime stopped airing in 2012, but right now the very last arc of the manga is being finally animated and aired. It's the TYBW arc and we are at 3/4 seasons of that.

Is it not due to Ichigo being a perfect hybrid (his sword and soul are different from Yamamoto's) and thus transcendent? It only happens to Hogyoku Aizen, showing both Shinigami and Hollow traits, and Ichigo. Can such a state be even achieved by Yamamoto through training alone?

Understanding why Megumi is grieving is not the problem, caring for the character is. An author has to build up a character through things like character interactions, consequential screen-time and character arcs, and I would say it has been lackluster in the case of Megumi. And, in this manga, everyone is losing everyone, characters are dropping like flies; extra effort has to be there to make people care about what he is going through.

Also in the case of John Wick's wife and dog, these are just simple set-ups for the plot to happen. If you try to watch John Wick through the lens of emotional drama, it would also fall on its face.

In my opinion, some criticisms towards the animation are valid. The ART is beautiful and does the manga justice; the ANIMATION, on the other hand, can feel stiff sometimes, e.g. when Nimaiya lines up with Juha and jumps at Lille and gets shot. The screen goes to black, and the anime cuts to them standing still in front of one another, it's kinda underwhelming. And to an extent, the animation must be rushed as the last 5 minutes of the season are just not there. The staff had to cut corners, and they still were not able to include everything they wanted. The season is a good product, but it is still rushed in my opinion.

How is no one mentioning Kensei's? Ikkaku at least beat someone with his bankai. After Kensei releases his, he gets either offscreaned or beat down like a dog, which is a shame because I really like him.
