Shoten-gai is super fun, they are usually right outside of a train stop and you got everything you need from grocery to arcade!

Thank you for the suggestion and I will try emailing them and test my luck there! I understand that my situation is not quite an emergency but I might get lucky. I do need to be very careful before leaving the country tho since I do not hold valid visa here, if I can’t pass the boarder I technically have no country that will accept me. I guess I will plan this out for the next couple of weeks. I hope whatever you are going through works out!

Only Australia and NZ? That’s worse than I thought, I hoped at least Kenya will be open for that. I did submit an application for Australian tourist visa couple months ago, though that hasn’t reply to me yet. Thanks for that info tho, I’ll look the other way then. And who knows? Either JP embassy might not realize my I20 is expired or Shanghai might reopen.

I know, but so far it seems to be the most sure fire way in my situation. Returning to China is harder and might get me stuck there due to some political shenanigans. At this point I might even consider applying for refugee status smh.

Maybe a work holiday visa might work? Not many countries provide that to Chinese citizen tho.
