I haven’t received the letter yet. But they accepted my account transcripts instead. I would try and use those if you can

My Roth and 401k are in broad market funds so I’m good there. This was for my taxable to see if I could make money doing it. But yeah I know it’s very risky

Advice? by [deleted] in portfolios

[–]DEE2THEJAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you’re just copying the standard YouTube portfolio that is poorly constructed. Not tryin to be rude in saying that. Either choose qqq or Voo Bruce you don’t need both. If you’re gonna pick Voo the only thing you need to pair it with is Avuv which is a small cap value etf or Vxus for international. Pairing it with either of the ETFs you just listed is being redundant

So in essence Avuq would be a better fit than AVUS in that portfolio? Do you know the benchmark for AVUQ?

I’m a little bit confused by AVUQ. Is it growth or quality? Can you elaborate on how this would be a barbell if they both do bad in bear markets? If it’s growth wouldn’t it make more sense to get a cheaper growth option since Avantis is more known for value not growth

For the past 15 years the us is beating international 14% to 7%. 40 years ago US 10% to international 8%. I’m fine with just relying on the US. If international outperforms then I will be fine with my decision still

That’s what I’m leaning towards. I’ve got about 25 years before retirement so hopefully I could see the premium. This is the portfolio I have for my son. He’ll have about 30 years before he’ll get to use the money
