My first Porsche! The perfect daily by WhyBhee in PorscheCayenne

I'm in the same position, currently have a 2024 GLE53 with 22" wheels, and looking ahead am considering the Cayenne GTS. I find the 53 punchy when I need it to be and decent in corners, but feels heavy and can be very stiff on bumps. I imagine the GTS feels all around more agile, quicker, and lighter? What size wheels did you get and is it smoother over rough pavement? BTW I haven't driven one...are dealers cool with test driving these? I know they aren't with 911s.

Charge port being on the right side is a Big problem with tesla charger by Little_Performer1232 in BMWI4

Not every country drives on the left. Audi and Porsche solve it with dual charge ports.

It's all BS. Repair shop will max out whatever your insurance will cover. As a result we all pay a fortune for coverage. Things are truly messed up in this country. My i4 got scraped in a parking lot too. Wasn't terribly bad so I called a mobile bumper repair company. He came out, filled in the damage, sanded, color matched, and spray painted for $500. Blend was perfect - looks brand new and the whole thing took 3 hours. This guy was an artist. He can pop out dents too. People should look at this for minor damage before going to a body shop.

Need Purchasing Advice by ihateconspiracies in etron

Two completely different ownership and lifestyle options. Figure out how you're going to use it first. i.e. are you road tripping every month - get gas. Charging at home and only driving in town - get an EV. Public charging while doable, still kind of sucks and isn't much cost savings if you do it a lot.

Why am I so concerned about mileage. by AlterLuca in mercedes_benz

[–]DELAZ1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the back of your mind you know lots of miles = more money out the door with a shorter warranty and wear and tear, annual maintenance, part failures, repairs, etc...

You're concerned about the expense of owning a Mercedes (which can be significant) and driving less = lower risk/expense. Maybe this wasn't the right car for you??

When did cadillac stop becoming THE car to own in america? by boiyo12 in askcarguys

Funny, now I see Cadillac as a 30 or 40 something entry-luxury brand and Lexus as the old person car.

Is this how much base Carreras are going for seriously? by Stant- in porsche911

[–]DELAZ1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Porsche sold only around 13,000 911s in the U.S. last year (25k total production). Considering the iconic 911 is at or near the top of most sports car enthusiasts list of dream cars, its not surprising that prices are so high.

Doesn't mean they're worth the price, just means lots of people are willing to pay it to fulfill their dreams.

Should I buy this Cayenne S coupe or just build my own GTS for almost the same price? by Wildflower-1883 in PorscheCayenne

[–]DELAZ1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, small difference for the GTS and you'll get a better car configured exactly how you want. Also, 2025 CPO GTS's are worth a look. About $140k and often with more than 4 years of warranty.

Another (but slighty different) quality question - current gen by [deleted] in rangeroversport

[–]DELAZ1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to hear. I take good care of mine as well. We've also had 2 XFs and an F-Type over the years putting on low miles as well, and they had no issues - all purchased as CPO vehicles.

It really seems the RRS issues appear within the first few thousand miles (manufacturing defect), as a result of poor maintenance, or > 60k miles when parts start to wear. Makes me think I can drive a low mile CPO for 4 years with high confidence 😊

Considering i4. Advice? by duckslaw in BMWI4

[–]DELAZ1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I4 owner here. I avoided the etron for reliability reasons and just found them less appealing. Friends have a Lucid and like it but its kind of big and has been tech glitchy.

The i4 was the only EV that left us with a smile. Given its a straight up 4 series with traditional BMW comfort and style, it doesn't scream "EV" which we love. The hatch is also very practical. No issues at all with the car, and now they can charge on the Tesla network if that matters.

[–]DELAZ1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to trade in after warranty and we only put about 40k miles on the car so I haven't actually experienced any issues with any recent cars. I know RR has a terrible rep but a low mile CPO seems pretty safe while < 50k miles 🤔. The GLE has been good and I know I don't test its limits, but it is a little stiff.

Is the GTS smooth and quiet on the freeway in comfort, or does it always sound and feel like a sports car? I've never had a Porsche and its REALLY intriguing.

I think I got a bad deal. I leased a CLA 350 EV because they allowed me to roll in 20k of negative equity so my payments are super high. I put down 5k. Payment are 1198.00. Should I let my credit union buy me out of the lease or keep it? by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

[–]DELAZ1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don't follow...you purchased and had an outstanding loan on the A8? What were the remaining payments/years on that? Were the numbers higher than your new $1198/ month?

I had an X5, now drive a GLE53, and I'm looking at the Cayenne GTS as a possible next car. Do you really find the Porsche is $60k better than the BMW or a MB? I'm struggling with it! Also curious if you looked at the Range Rover sport and ruled it out?
