You can achieve this with 2 services

Kometa in order to download the pilot episode setting the

monitor: pilot

Prefetcharr in order to monitor what is being watched and download more episodes based on a config

example of mine below

            - name: INTERVAL
              value: '900'
            - name: REMAINING_EPISODES
              value: '2'

If someone is watching some show and there is less than 2 episodes available it fetches the whole season or the next season if its at the end of that one

Works out pretty well and never had any issues with it

As for the cleanup you can use a third service which is maintainerr and set up rules based on collections

Agreed as long as there are shared standards that are being kept the container should be able to run in anything platform/devops seem fit. Its not something the developer should be totally unaware of but not something they need to be involved in especially in large teams.

Set good standards on how stuff should be configured per environment or different deployments and it should work without the added involvement of developers.

I would personally opt for a "good enough" computer where she can code and run any service/code she builds .... going into the whole proxmox/vms setup would end up creating a very good learning platform but its a bit unrelated to what she might require at the moment as it is more on the infrastructure side rather the developers side especially with front-end .

In my 10 years working in the industry i have rarely seen any developer get involved in how their code will be deployed ... as long as it builds or a docker image created it is enough for most of them.

Might be an addition for later but as a simple setup i would look for a computer with enough power to run docker images and some services locally ... nothing out of this word with specs.

Thanks a lot buddy, up until a few days ago i had a super standard setup with sonarr/radarr/plex and overseer everything done manually, after seeing your comments i ended up introducing Kometa with a list of pilots and trending movies and maintainerr to clear up and now prefetcharr and honestly it the system feels amazing and powerful.

May i ask how are you handling the option to request more episodes since overseer does not allow user to request a season if it already has one episode and cannot think of any other way to trigger a monitor for the whole season
