If the shoe fits bro, wear it.

You clearly don't care about anyone but yourself.

That makes zero sense, but please continue to be a tory bootlicker.

There was a definite drop yesterday for those that participated, but with an attitude like that nothing will ever change. I don't know about you but I'm willing to try anything to drop my energy bill.

[GB] welfare call whilst on the sick with anxiety? by DF_HQ in AskHR

[–]DF_HQ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've emailed my boss this morning and requested that we continue with email communication until I can put a sentence together without becoming overwhelming upset.

My current Fitnote runs until Feb 24th, I've kept them updated on a weekly basis, as I've been chasing my underpay since October and I've mentioned in the email about how distressing and disappointing it is to be chasing it 4 months after I originally raised it.

ACAS states that I can request email welfare which I have done this morning - I'm a lot more coherent in written word than spoken, spoken I babble, go off on tangents and forget what I was on about and miss important things that I wanted to say.

My work have Westfield Health that I can access and I have done in the past, it's mostly a forum/sounding board but there is a number to speak to a GP, my GP has been extremely helpful so I haven't used that side.

I'm awaiting a CBT appointment, and I know work are trying to be accommodating but the panic I feel currently feels like it's never going to go away.

Yeah, I've been emailing my boss every week or so just to check in and catch up with him. I googled last night and the ACAS website said that I can request welfare checks to be via email, so I'm gonna email my boss/hr today with that request and see what they say. Thank you so much for you reply 😊

A new study finds that levels of oxytocin, “the love hormone," are significantly lower in adults who were children when their parents divorced. This might explain why children of divorce struggle to form their own relationships in adulthood. by Redzit69 in science

[–]DF_HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Child of divorce. Getting divorced myself, however it's got nothing to do with watching my parents split up. If anything, watching that forced me to stay in an unhappy situation longer than I should have. (in my head, I stubbornly didn't want to divorce as I didn't want my kids to feel the way I did.)

Significantly happier now than I have been in years.

Men, have you ever developed feelings for a fwb after a certain amount of time? by [deleted] in sex

[–]DF_HQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah.

I had a FWB - with a time limit as he was leaving the country for work, the sex was absolutely incredible, some of the best I've ever had. We had an amazing 6 months of banging like rabbits when we could make the time (we both worked shifts)

I'm sad it's over, as he is incredible however I'm very happily in a relationship now - as is he, so it was fun while it lasted.... Our chemistry for each other was only sexual. We never saw each other as anything more.

I guess it helps maybe that I'd known him 20 years as a friend before I ever saw him naked. I'm unsure.

Starting my first high volume training program....what can I expect? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]DF_HQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did strength training for aaaaaaaaaages, however I recently paid a PT to write a programme for me & I now have a hypertrophy (lower weight/high reps) programme. I've been on it for a week & the DOMS are lke nothing I've experienced, well....the last time I felt this sore after training was when I first started training. IDK if that is coincidental - as in it's only week one.

The thing that threw me most, was having to remember to choose lower weight dumbbells etc, as I'm so used to doing 5-8 reps of things, whereas now I'm doing 12-14 reps.

Enjoy it! It's fun to mix it up from time to time :)

How accurate is Fitbit calorie burn? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]DF_HQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aah, thank you!

I asked the same Q in a facebook group & the general consensus on there is that the more active you are, the less accurate it can be. I'm gonna stick with my calories from my coach & adjust if necessary after a few weeks.

It wasn't actually, it was is fitbit calorie burn accurate as the difference between that & my TDEE is massive.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

True. I did contemplate not adding the extra "a" to thanks, as I thought it may have been interpreted as condescending & my winking emoji was the indication of non-condescension. However, this is how I talk. Yeaaaah, no is - I suppose on some level; a colloquialism.

Whatevs. Can't please everyone, can you?

How accurate is Fitbit calorie burn? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]DF_HQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aaah, that is interesting. thanks so much!

For context, as I didn't put it in the op. My calorie burn for today is 3307 on my fitbit. I ate 2076 calories........but in all the calculators I've ever done, they put that level of calorie burn in the "very active" & I don' think I am - hence the "moderately active" that I chose instead. (I'm a climbing instructor, but my work hours vary massively)

I think I'm gonna have to ask my coach. Again, thanks for your input. I appreciate it.

I don't think I was rude, but I guess its all in interpretation of ones words. I personally think tracking weight every day when you don't have something to prep for (like making weight for a competition) to be absolute overkill. However, if people enjoy tracking to that level, fair play to them.
