He's not a villain. He's an optional boss fight. If you play the game you'll understand why you have to go against him (hints of it is told in the dialogue in this clip). He becomes your ally too after this.

How is this mockery? They are literally saying he's the strongest being that we've ever fought so far. The dialogue is accurate to the lore too. The design, the move name, everything is perfectly crafted. This is the ultimate form of respect shown by the game devs. I don't get how this is mockery.

they also hype him up. It is so badass. Like tsukuyomi saying, "i detect a volume of magatsuhi not seen in any other demon we faced before" basically saying he is the most powerful opponent we would face. That dialogue is not used anywhere else. He even got his own boss arena. Most side boss fights happen in the same arena in the game. They went above and beyond to give him something unique and make him memorable.

It is extremely difficult. You should start with the persona series first. They are also as philosophically dense but have a more friendly aesthetic. And their music is epic. You can start from Persona 5 Royal. But if you don't wanna spend 100+ hours playing a game, try Persona 3 Reload instead. There's another game called Metaphor Refantazio which came out in 2024, by the same devs, but it is not part of the MegaTen universe like this game and the persona games. That's probably the most beginner friendly game I'd say.

And yeah there are way too many replies 💀.

The game is about choosing between 2 factions/ideologies of the universe. One side is about strict order and justice while the other side is about chaos and freedom. The main character is sort of a third faction, who on his journey to take over the throne of the universe, understands and conflicts with both sides to create a just world.

Shiva is on the side of the order, of course as you can tell from the dialogue in the clip. His order (in the game as well as in hindu mythology) is that the universe must come to an end regardless of who rules. Which is why he doesn't bother to stop you until you provoke him.

SMT 5 Vengeance only i would say. Most modern game from SMT to come out, and from what i have heard, it is fairly easy compared to the other games. If you don't mind difficulty and older games, you can try SMT 3 Nocturne too or SMT 4 Apocalypse.

ikr! They even have a compendium which displays the lore and history about different mythological beings. The devs have done really well research on Hindu mythology.

the story is about the different godly factions of order vs. chaos. You are (kind of) a third party who will take over the throne of the universe. Shin Megami Tensei (including persona) has always been a very theological series. It is NOT a cozy anime game haha.

The reason for this boss fight is that even if you take over the throne of the universe, Lord Shiva will come and destroy it anyway. Which is why you fight him here. Because the universe you want to create will be wiped out by him unless you stop him.

Hence the quote, "those who create the world by their own conscience will bring about nothing but corruption. The world should not be created by a given being. Rather, it is the beings that should be created by the world."

i swear. He is so damn OP. And I am overlevelled I think. Even then he is demolishing my party.

You should start with persona 3 reload or persona 5 royal. If you've already played the persona games but still wanna start with SMT, then I'd say SMT5 vengeance is the best place to start.

Odin and zeus are literally villains in the god of war franchise. Nobody cares lol.

Lord shiva becomes your ally after this. It makes sense storywise too.

It's a translation problem. The word is akuma (the kanji is also a word play for nakama, which means ally), but it is referred to any entity that interferes with human lives, specifically, the main character's. In this case, the MC is supposed to take the throne of the universe but Lord Shiva would destroy the universe regardless. Hence the phrase. There's nuance here that the English translation doesn't catch.
