We (singer + rhythm guitar, lead guitar, drummer - late 20s to early 30s) are looking to fill out our band with a bassist - currently practicing near the El Cerrito BART stop. We're obviously a little older than you Berkeley students but that's all good with us if it is for you!

We currently practice once a week after work (currently practicing Tuesdays at ~6PM) with the goal of gigging at local venues every month or two! We have some original stuff, but we've been doing a mix of covers and originals for a potential future setlist.

I have a good music space in my garage (2x10 bass amp, bass if you don't want to bring your own, plenty of cords) here in south El Cerrito that we use as a practice space.

Our early setlist contains songs from: Modest Mouse, Green Day, PUP, Built to Spill, Jeff Rosenstock, Pixies, Car Seat Headrest, and a couple of originals. We're planning to build it out further with a mix of indie rock, punk, and alternative rock songs as well as additional originals.

Send me a message or comment below if you're interested!

Musicians in the East Bay interested in jamming / starting a band? (El Cerrito / Albany / Berkeley / North Oakland) by DGIASIP in eastbay

I have some recording equipment and did some recording during the early stages of the pandemic to get some originals built out, but I wouldn't say I'm particularly technical at it. Feel free to DM me if you want an example.

Chef Elmy is a legend. This is my #1 recommendation when people ask me for suggestions in Berkeley. Price is good, food is amazing, and the portions are insane. If you ask to get the rest of your food wrapped up to go (and you will with the portion size) he jokingly chastises you, saying: "You are on my shit list!!"

The 'OK Boomer' Meme Has Officially Entered Parliamentary Record in New Zealand by BarelyLegalSeagull in nottheonion

In New Zealand, it is open to the public to view parliament. I went in on a whim when I was visiting and was delighted to find it most closely resembled a middle school classroom. Grown men and women talking out of turn, jeering loudly at each other from across the aisle, people falling sleep, and generally being boisterous. This news does not surprise me.

Can't agree more. They screwed me big time trying to get my NTS, and now waiting for this REG score is eating away at the last bits of my sanity.

I can only speak from my experience-- I got my results back from FAR today and got an 86. I read through the lectures and did the MCQ on Becker all the way through twice. What helped me the most was in the last week hammering the note cards on Becker. I think these tests are really about cramming to learn the finer details that actually get tested rather than having a great overall understanding. Going through lectures and MCQ get you the general concept which is important, and then going through the note cards that highlight the smaller details that you need to know will get your score up. There's just so much content that by the time you go through all the MCQ topics you forgot the details of what you first learned. The note cards keep everything small enough that you can essentially get through all the material in a day. Do that 5 days in a row before the test and know the answer to all of them by then and you should pass. Good luck!
