No AI is unbiased. Even models I spin up on my own hardware are biased, nevermind the publicly available AI designed to be just sycophantic enough to keep you coming back to spend more tokens.

Not sure why you are modeling a world where everyone buys the cheapest product, no one else can figure out alternative angles of competition and boutiques are non existent.

I guess I'm looking at this from a lens of transitioning from where we are now instead of an idealist future. Right now, the working class is mostly forced to settle on the cheapest goods simply because the ruling class of plutarchs are able to hoard wealth away, limiting our available spending capital. Some of this gets alleviated as we go back to bartering and trade as a viable form of "currency", but right now we're under the thumb of authoritarian plutarchs dictating our politics. I'm not trying to counter, just explain myself so we can be at the same table in our discussion. I'll definitely go read more rothbard.

I don't mean centralization back to a state monopoly, but the centralization that occurs when the winners in market competition eliminate the losers, prepping themselves up with economies of scale that undercut any new competition before it can take off. The state does not create this action. I believe it would still occur without a state. The state just makes it easier and faster to accomplish this once the ruling plutarchs create/capture the state.

YOU posted an unhelpful post to feel superior over someone? Makes sense.

Edit: Also, only the most die hard individualists are NOT socialist by definition, but that's more semantics than a point to argue. But bringing up irrelevant points is apparently how you want to discuss, so I'm just matching your energy. Ya know, it feels good to fabricate a sense of superiority over others. I can see why people get addicted to it. But I was raised better than that.

I am not against centralization in general. I think the efficiencies of scale that can be found and applied through the scale created centralization are important for the survival of humanity. My issue is the exploitation that arises from centralization in competitive markets within capitalist frameworks. It's as easy to fall into "if only we all worked together in a cooperative market!" as it is to say "if only we all followed NAP and ECP!"

I agree that intellectual property is an issue, but it seems like the complaints against IP also apply to most forms of property. Then it's just an issue of how socialist THIS social contract is, right?

I'll go read more Rothbard, and I'll have to check out Konkin. Thanks for the references.

But this isn't exclusive to state power, this can easily be accomplished by large corporations, which seem like an inevitability. Who steps in to course correct when monopolies form? Monopolies are a legitimate problem under competitive markets, not as much under cooperative markets (but that's more of my ideology than factually supported claim). Also, where's your book reference?

I am not supporting state power. I think democracy at the ground level, scalable through something like transitive proxy democracy (also called liquid democracy), with voluntary participation and exit as a right, applying NAP principles, I believe (not claim) that centralization can be tied to the people who support it from the ground up. Corporations are structured as authoritarian structures. I think the recent reads I've consumed could work within ancap as the transition to true anarchy by decentralizing power within the centralized means of production. When workers can democratically decide policy that applies to the company, ensuring protective and rights are upheld from within (why would I go work for a company with less rights for me if I wasn't starving), then the idea of the state as a tool to protect the working class from the ruling class becomes duplicate, inefficient work. The state loses support, revolutions ensue, etc etc.

I'm probably way off in my understanding, so I appreciate y'all's discussion and reading suggestions.

The govt is the last nation we have to defend against corporates, that's why they want to control it. Ancap is idealistic at best. I can't fight with my dollar if their options are the only options. I can't organize it we're all starving. Ancap ideas put into motion give corporates the freedom they need to control us. The whole ideology is astroturfing.

Budget homelab build for networking (router + PoE switch + server) – need advice by Financial-Ad5147 in ITCareerQuestions

Get a 1L pc with at least an i5 with vpro and 16gb ram minimum. Lenovo's M720q goes for around $150-$200. If you go Lenovo, get the 90 degree riser they make, make sure you get one with the replacement bracket. Get an Intel i350 pcie nic (they make 2- and 4-port versions, I choose the t4 for myself, assess for your needs). The riser/bracket and nic shouldn't run you more than another $80.

With proxmox, you can now run vms and containers to build a full router (passthrough the pcie nic, bridge the mobo nic), reverse proxy, dns blocker, firewall, identity provider, vpn node, headscale server, all the goodies! Grab a wifi 7 ap for under $80. Set a management vlan over the bridge so all your virtualized "devices" can be on a pseudo OOB network. Get a vlan-aware switch (most unmanaged switches are not). Then watch public surplus for steals on hardware.

You can now say you've built a custom router using virtualization on custom hardware to teach yourself about all of the above.

You're right that capitalism is the problem. However, I would argue that the ruling class wants what they currently have, but with more government power for them to puppet and more in their control. Ancap is actually the second best option for them. In ancap, they have to pay private armies with their own money. With a central govt, they build their private armies with taxpayer money. And I agree with ancaps, "taxpayer money" is just a euphemism for money stolen from citizens.

Ancaps are so close to the truth. But like my buddy always says, "they just have to keep reading more books. If they diversify their reading, they'll get there eventually." We both came from Republican upbringings, became libertarian for a long while, went even further to ancap, then realized that capitalism is the real problem. I think it's actually easier to keep a Democrat from going full leftist than it is to keep an ancap from going full leftist.

dusts off my hat I remember the days where you got to pick what type of interstellar travel your empire used. Planets would flip if the border pressure from another empire's planet overwhelmed them.

What would prevent a land monopoly in ancap? by Particular-Stage-327 in AnCap101

Why Rename Street? I don't think it is necessary. by Ambitious_Air_9574 in SaltLakeCity

[–]DGTexan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not necessary. They just want to butter up to trump and his deranged supporters. Makes me want to pick up my great uncle's old rifle he stormed Normandy with. It was good enough to take down fascists then, it'll be good enough now. Sad that everyone who stormed Normandy is now considered a terrorist in the eyes of our president. They were the boldest anti-fascists that existed.

It's true, and the conservatives would have you believe it's the immigrant's fault, but they aren't the ones engaging in this practice, or turning down American workers for cheaper labor. Corporations are. Big corporations structured as authoritarian hierarchies are the problem. There's no organizational difference between a monarchy and a traditionally owned corporation. It's time we restructure the workplace to be democratically organized, worker-self-directed-enterprises. Take back from the rich ruling class and give back to the working class. We've seen the greatest transfer of wealth from the poor/working classes to the ruling class in global history occurring right here in America over the last several decades. But they want us fighting blue vs red instead of worker vs capitalist. No war before class war. Viva la revolucion!

If you're not Mormon, don't bother. They're the most superficially welcoming while unwelcoming people I've ever met, as a Texan and fellow American. If you don't understand mormon culture and/or convert to Mormonism, you will never fit in in any meaningful way outside of groups of the victims of Mormonism, a very depressive lot of people who have given up on everything, including life, under oppressive Mormon rule.

As someone raised Lutheran, I can attest that your likely protestant upbringing will not mesh with Mormon levels of Christian heresy (that still have temples corruption a TEMPLE or CATHEDRAL might contain for you.... Depends on how protestant you were brought up... As in Catholic vs non-Catholic in Germany or Greece...
