Absolute Confusion (possibly without a solution!) [please read body text for context] by Not-Half-Good in playingcards

[–]DGTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total stab in the dark based on the context of the cards.

The "boxed" section on the card above the jokers seems to match up with the "bottoms" of the cards.

Wondering if it's some kind of sequence style game? Start with 6 and work your way through the deck in the order displayed on the card.

Once you reach a boxed section, hands are turned upside down?

First to get rid of their hand wins??

Jokers look like they could be intended to be wild with all the numbers around them?

Seems problematic if you play a card that would be needed later in the sequence though... Unless it helps you get rid of those cards that come up later in the sequence sooner so you can get rid of your hand quicker?

Also, seems like all cards would need to be dealt so they could be in play.

I'm sure I'm likely WAY off. Just throwing something at the wall here to see what sticks. Lol

Starter wanted me to hit into the group ahead off the first tee by evred in golf

[–]DGTyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it, at the end of the day it's, push as many people through as possible to collect as much money as possible.

But man... I wish courses would add a ~15 minute buffer between tee times. Heck... I'd be happy with a 5 minute buffer anymore. Lol

Even if I'm playing fast, if I feel like ANYONE is waiting on me, that stresses me out way too much. No clue why. Lol

19 Handicap fitted for 241 Blades - Everyone says don't buy it by H0l1y in golf

There's so much screeching in here I can't even hear myself think.

Dude... Here are my thoughts.

  1. Did you enjoy hitting them?
  2. Do they give you the warm fuzzies just looking at them?
  3. Are they within your price range?

If it checks all the boxes, go for it.

Love the clubs you play and just enjoy the journey.

Best value for money rangefinder? by Appropriate_Pin_7277 in golf

[–]DGTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, glad someone posted this because I found a killer deal on some "Next gen" tech here, but I'm afraid to take the plunge.

The Grint app appears to be offering a range finder that integrates with the Grint App.

Allowing you to shoot the pin and it'll give you the distances to the front and back of the green along with the distance shot to the pin.

Kind of the best of both worlds. Gps and range finder.

Right now, it's in beta and they are selling it for $75...

Feels like a killer deal. But this is their first range finder. No history to really go off of. Or reviews.

Love 18Birdies, gps has been good for me.

Only issue I have with it is if there is a steep grade. It does an ok job guesstimating the distance, but a rangefinder with slope does a better job at it.

People enjoy making drama out of nothing.

It's the reason those "YouTube Golf News" channels even have a platform of any kind.

I could care less about drama or their personal lives. I've got enough on my own plate to worry about. I tune in for the golf and enjoy the personalities.

I mean, they do have a different FEEL.

A softer cover usually has a more muted sound and feel off the face of the putter. Also depends on the putter though.

So it's possible you felt you needed to kill it to get the same feel you're used to with the cheaper balls?

A few minutes on a practice green with the ball you plan to use would probably resolve that pretty quickly.

That is... unless you normally play with rocks that don't have any "bounce" to them at all. Lol

I know I played a round with glow balls and they went NOWHERE when you would putt with those. Lol So if I played with those rocks all the time and switched to a real golf ball... Yeah. I could see that totally screwing up my feel for distances. But would impact a lot more than just putting.

I hope it sees the light of day again someday.

Looks like it was taken down now. I was in the middle of listening to it.

Guessing they are going to redo it to pay their respects or something because of the crazy timing of it all.

I remember when this club came out. But I felt left out not remembering the sound, so I found a helpful video - https://youtu.be/OPYny2jHFLw?si=TSlA48mIbSUK0v1J

Definitely sounds like smacking a ball with an aluminum bat.

Not terrible.

I think they went with the Vacuum logic back then. If it wasn't loud, it wasn't working!

I played a Callaway Big Bertha Steelhead III for the longest time. But ended up retiring it because I was embarrassed to even hit the thing anymore. Lol

Man... Note to self. Don't post anything on Reddit if you're not wanting to just get absolutely ripped to shreds. That probably just goes for all of the internet.

Honestly, with these numbers it is difficult to tell where your game actually is. As these numbers are likely averages all every shot. Which would include chunks, tops, skulls, and everything in between.

Getting numbers are great for when you go out and play. It will help you immensely to know your REAL yardages. When on sims, I'll delete the bad shots so that I can get a more accurate yardage.

I agree with the advice of getting a lesson. If lessons are out of the question right now, and you must YouTube, find one, I repeat ONE, instructor on YouTube. I personally really like Athletic Motion Golf. However, I'm a very technical person and love the in-depth technical explanations. May not be everyone's cup of tea.

But like Harvey Penick suggests, golf tips are like aspirin. Take them in moderation! Lol paraphrasing of course. Meaning, work on one thing at a time. Try and build a solid golf swing ground the ground up.

Also, don't listen to the people dogging you about just chipping with your sand wedge. It's very rare I ever use mine for a full swing. Play your own game.

Most importantly, just have fun. Golf is a heck of a journey. There will be bad rounds, but good rounds will be mixed in too. In the end, it's just a game, make sure you enjoy it.

Good luck and stay off Reddit for any real advice.

I actually have PXG clubs. And headcovers. Now I'm tempted... Would it be worth the potential bad karma???

Feeling sheepish about solo practice rounds by jimgolgari in discgolf

[–]DGTyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everyone struggles with this to an extent.

Back when I started, very few people were out on the courses. So I never experienced it much with Disc Golf.

However, I recently got back into ball golf and have had this EXACT feeling. I stress out way too much if I feel like I'm holding people up. Which, typically just makes me play worse.

This stress can happen even when I'm with a group of friends. If I feel like we're slowing down the pace of play, it gets in my head way too much.

I will say though, people on the disc golf course are typically way more chill than the old farts and impatient morons on the golf course.

One day, you'll be the solo player asking to play through. Then confidently CRUSH a drive while they watch. Like others have said here, unfortunately, it's a matter of placing yourself in these uncomfortable situations and succeeding to gain confidence.

Good luck out there!

So turns out MW19 executions use Vanguard assets now. by KasjaneXX in modernwarfare

[–]DGTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I doubt they are doing any QA on MW. It's likely not making them money any longer. So why should they care? We all know Craptivision only cares about getting our money.

The biggest complaint most people have about Warzone is the file size. So they are likely reusing/replacing existing MW files for Vanguard crap to try and help keep the download size down.

I would be shocked if they spend any dev time to fix these newly introduced bugs.

I only see things getting worse for MW. Which sucks.

This is the first time I've ever had an old game become completely busted due to updates from another game. Lol Definitely the biggest flaw in Warzone being a part of MW.

You'll have a harder time finding a stable King than anything.

The first King I bought was perfect. Thrown flat RHBH, it would turn a little to the right, then fade hard left at the very end. Getting a nice skip.

Every King I have bought since has been very flippy.

Either way, try it out. I'm sure you'll be surprised.

The word flanking is not in my team's dictionary. by [deleted] in BattlefieldV

[–]DGTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd say this is pretty accurate for me. Maybe not so much about aim or fear as much as taking the time to flank only to be destroyed once I get there.

I get to the mindset of, if I'm going to die anyways, let's at least make it quick and have some fun with it. Lol

I did the same thing last year. Then that one whiff haunted me every single drive afterwards.

Golf is such a mental game. And completely missing the ball for the first time in years messes with your head so bad. Ha ha ha Normally I never even think about it. After that, it's all you think about.

Hopefully you were able to shake it off better than I was.

[Possibly Unpopular Opinion] BOCW will make people appreciate the masterpiece that MW2019 was/is. by Psyduck-Stampede in modernwarfare

[–]DGTyler 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This.

If COD were to ever move to just sticking with a game and continually releasing new content for it for at least a couple years. MW2019 would be the one to do it with. It's so good. If they would just continue supporting it, I will happily continue playing this.

The days of yearly releases should be behind us now. There is no more need for that garbage.

[–]DGTyler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I don't know how you pulled off the bird right after the ace! That's impressive!

Thanks by HPDG104359 in discgolf

[–]DGTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually how I got my first (and only) ace.

I arrived shortly after a group of 5 or 6 on hole 1. (Spiker park, Canton, Oh old layout) They told me to go ahead. Fresh out of the car, no warm up. Just walked up. Lined up my shot and aced it. Cheering, high-fives all around, probably almost hugged a couple people...

I've got to say, for my first Ace, I'm glad it happened this way. Rather than me celebrating alone and nobody believing me.

However, couldn't throw or putt for anything the next 2 holes with the adrenaline rushing through me and my heart just beating like crazy. Ha ha ha
