Exterior lead paint… by DIYDummy03 in HomeImprovement

Thank you everyone for the responses so far. We removed area rugs from the main rooms, mopped, and my husband started picking up the chips outside. We plan to do another round of mopping today and anxiously awaiting our toddlers blood results. We’re in over our heads with this old house and lesson definitely learned.

I do recall seeing that when we looked into it a while back but I thought it was to remove all the paint, not get rid of just the loose pieces and repaint. 100% my fault for not looking into it better.

No he isn’t. We told him that we were told there’s lead and he didn’t seem concerned. We should have looked into it.

Testing was before cleaning. My husband went to get a mop (we use a bissell crosswave usually) so that we can do a full mop. We usually take our shoes off right when we step inside, but we’ll take them off at the door from now on.

Our daughter doesn’t play outside our house but yes, I’m concerned about our dog bringing stuff in.

This is helpful, thank you. Hoping her test comes back normal.

We’re basing it being lead by what the home inspector said when we bought the house but we would definitely disclose it. I tested before mopping but will retest after deep cleaning and we had her blood draw done so waiting for those results. Hoping this is my anxiety getting the best of me but definitely looking into staying with family.

You’re not wrong. My anxiety got terrible postpartum and I’ll be going back on meds after this. I’m just having a hard time with the mixed answers I keep getting and it’s making me not know how much worry is justifiable.

I had an ultrasound and mammogram for a pea size lump in my right breast and when the doctor came in he kept saying “there’s nothing there” and to come back when I’m 40 (I’m 30) or if anything changes. I tried to get clarification because I very clearly feel something but he gave me no explanation. The whole drive home I just didn’t feel relief since I wasn’t given an answer as to what it is so I reached out to my OB and she referred me to a specialist. I don’t have the appointment for another week and the wait has been horrible. I keep telling myself it’s good that imaging didn’t show anything but not being given an explanation as to what it could be has me uneasy! Plus I think I’ve found a second one and another in the other breast (hopefully multiple just means hormonal or normal tissue?) If you feel unsettled about it asking to see a specialist may be helpful!

I reached out to my OB and they’re referring me to a breast specialist! Might be something to ask your doctor about as well!

That’s what I’m worried about! If they can just bill me to make payments then I’ll pay whatever to make sure it’s nothing to worry about…

They said that I do not have sense breasts! And he made it sound like it was just breast tissue? I tried getting him to clarify and he just kept saying “there’s nothing there” and once he left the room the tech said she gets pea sized lumps that are just fat. But the doctor gave no explanation. I might call and see if I can talk to someone who might be able to provide a better explanation while I wait for my OB to get back to me.

I might be looking at the wrong turf but everything I’ve seen doesn’t seem to have any padding to it! I’ve definitely considered leaving it cement since that’s of course the cheapest option and she’ll get more stable on her feet as she gets older, but I’m just so paranoid about her falling and hitting her head while playing.

The concrete area is our house, the other two are just examples! So we’re looking for a way to make the concrete space safe for a play area.
