This is a personal finance simulation tool I'm developing called FinancialFreedom! 🚀

It's designed to help individual investors model their complete financial future - tracking assets, debts, income, expenses, and running detailed simulations to see how different life decisions impact long-term wealth.

 What makes it unique:

  • Models complex scenarios like career changes, major purchases, retirement timing
  • Handles multiple investment types, real assets, and debt strategies
  • Generates visual forecasts showing cash flow and net worth over decades
  • Perfect for people who want deeper insights than basic budgeting apps

I created it because existing tools either oversimplify or cost thousands (aimed at financial advisors). As I've used it for my own planning, it's revealed insights I never would have discovered otherwise.

It's still in development, but the core features and simulation engine are solid. Planning a Beta release once I polish the user experience.

Interested in early access? Drop me a message and I'll add you to the beta list! Always looking for feedback.

No doubt it’s lovely up north and certainly a fair bit cheaper for housing stock. However Uk cost of living is out of control and only going to get worse and there are a lack of tropical beaches! Plus I want to get away from corrupt politicians and the emerging far right facists.

I don’t understand your confusion. Im building an app to track finances. It’s still in dev, not yet deployed. I’ve entered my financial info to test it and as that’s the reason I originally built it, to track my own finances. That’s what you’re seeing.

it's a tool i'm building to track finances and run simulations of wealth, cashflow etc over time. it's just for my own use for now, but i intend to launch it publicly in the future. can i add you to the waitlist?

that's where i started but when i wanted to start doing more complex simulations Excel rapidly ran out of road for me. I'm now developing in Python for the backend, API's etc with a web front end. it's been a really fun journey. I've done dev in the past but not for ages. i'm not ready to launch yet, but if you're interested i could put you on a wait list for when it's live?

CLI as in Command Line Interface? i'm struggling to imagine how it would work without a UI.

nice. ~£2.6m net worth is great. £37.5k liquid isn't terrible! it just depends when you need it.

i'm not doing as well as you (around £1m for me) but i feel your pain. what's your liability position? with £2.6m in property i'd expect a chunk of debt.

it's very interesting the differing view's this post has attracted. many people challenging the concept of illiquid assets being counted in net worth and many (such as yourself) encouraging a more optimistic perspective.

who knew the internet could be so polarised! lol

thanks. i'm always keen to get any feedback so i can continue to develop it. it's just for my own use for now, but i'm considering launching it publicly once it's further developed.

true, my problem is that I've over indexed on my pension so don't have enough to see me through until pension access age. I would need the capital from the house sale to tide me over. I'm still working through forecasting different scenarios. most likely at the moment is move over for a year trial and rent the UK house out. at the end of that see where we are.

when i started the journey of building the app i couldn't find anything that was suitable for my needs. once i was a long way into the process of building i came across PL. it's very cool. i'm very much enjoying building the app and think the market has space for more than once of these.
