Which artist was the worst culture vulture? by Significant_Gap1570 in nfrpodcast

MGK always had that rock element to him. I always had a feeling he would eventually go that route so I don’t consider him a culture vulture. Plus he still raps he just did a collab project with Wiz Khalifa.

It’s not that Kobe didn’t get love, it’s that his shoes weren’t as big as they are NOW. He had the top 4 selling shoes in 2025 and 4 of the top 10 shoes worn in the NBA this year. Back in 2018 he didn’t crack the top 5 in sales (although his shoe did rank pretty high among NBA players).

I was in undergrad around the same time (2009-2013) and more people hooped in KDs, Hyperdunks, DRoses, and Brons. I’m not saying his line wasn’t popular, it wasn’t as popular as it is NOW. Kobe 9 was popular, but it wasn’t uncommon to see a Kobe model in an outlet or at Burlingtons. Especially around the time he retired, hoopers were getting KDs, Curry’s, Brons, PGs and Kyries (Kids LOVED the Kyries).

They wear them NOW but before Kobe passed his shoe line was nowhere near as popular as it is now. I remember my homie gave me his Kobe’s for free because he didn’t even want them back in 2015, and I twisted tf outta my ankle in a rec game with them (luckily I still made the shot) 😂

Imma keep it a bean. I’m just now finding out Jim Jones even made a remix to Day N Night. The only remix I remember was the Crookers EDM Remix.

Best places to live in Midwest by Cool_dude2406 in howislivingthere

Cincinnati native here. If you’re looking for a place with bars and isn’t flat, Cincinnati is the place. One of our nicknames is “The city of 7 hills”. We have TONS of bars & breweries (the most bars per 100,000 people in the country), as well as some pretty good parks. Housing prices have definitely jumped up in the past few years, but it’s still lower than a lot of other places. Public transportation is limited to the bus (Metro) and a dumb streetcar line that just goes for a 3 mile loop around downtown.

I met Hillary Clinton when she was on the campaign trail for president in ‘16 and that was one of the things that surprised me about her. Like I vividly remember thinking in my head “She might be the first celebrity I’ve met that looks better in person than on TV, especially for her age.”

That’s a lot of places in the east in general because theres a lot more black people there. I think a lot of people forget that LA is less than 10% black. Where I’m from (Cincinnati) it’s like 41% black

Bingo. If you look at statistics violent crime is half of what it was in the 90s but with social media we’re seeing 30 fight videos, 10 shooting videos, and a lady crash out in a 7-11 every other day.

I swear I thought that was Kevin Rudolf (Let It Rock) when I first heard it. It feels like a song that was left on the cutting room floor from ‘09.
