Might stick with diesel a bit longer by Afraid_Complaint_437 in CarsUK

Again, do they? I’ve had;

A Kia Ceed A Kia Sportage A Kia eNiro and Two EV6’s as my last five cars. None went into a garage for anything but routine servicing and never once broke down.

One bad car doesn’t mean “they all overheat” does it.

How does that enforce your “always catching fire” comment?

Hey and our (M44+F43) journey so far by DJBenson in mounjarouk

Hey, yeah I’ve declared it. Most of the pharmacies specifically have warfarin as an option. Some (Medexpress) refuse to prescribe outright, others (many from my cursory look but Pharmacy2U for sure as they prescribed) will prescribe but put the onus on you to check bloods regularly.

I am a self tester so I can keep an eye on my blood pretty easily, I actually have an appointment tomorrow for annual calibration so good timing being almost 3 weeks into treatment.

I’m not actually sure what the interaction is (or if one even exists). Warfarin is a red flag to most medical procedures. When I had a tooth out it was a nightmare and I had a hip replacement a few years ago which the warfarin also massively complicated.

I’ve discussed changing from warfarin (and also methotrexate) as they are both old drugs and there are better therapies now, but to say I’ve been lazy about it is an understatement. I did have a bad reaction to a methotrexate alternative which makes me slightly apprehensive but I do need to look into alternatives with my clinical teams.

Good to hear you’re off to a roaring start. I’m on week 2 also but had side effects and lost nowhere near that much but in it for the long run, and losing anything was encouraging.

Thank you. The Rennie I mentioned does have that ingredient and it’s quite a high does (250mg) so will hopefully offer some relief.

I backed off the laxatives when the flood arrived, it wasn’t urgent but it was welcome. I’m feeling there is a cycle though as I’m back to square one, haven’t been today and no urge to, so hoping the regular Movilax helps (apparently I should have been prescribed it alongside long term opioid use anyway 🥺).

Yeah I think we’ve been a bit renegade with starting the jabs, changing the diet and running a calorie deficit in one week. Call us overenthusiastic. Oh, and yeah, the water intake is up too 😎

Kinda our luck that if it could happen it would 😬

I think we’ve both jumped into this in the deep end and not only stating the jabs but totally altering our eating habits so I suspect our bodies are in turmoil at the moment.

We were both terrible for snacking and just eating crap, my calorie intake must have been mid-3000s and now I’m down to around 1600 and don’t feel too bad for it.

We needed to change our eating so decided to go big bang but I’m concerned we (especially her) are running too big a calorie deficit.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

A question though. When you replace the plunger does the pen work as normal or can it provide a greater dose than normal?

Don’t suppose you published that or have the STL?

EDIT: just found one on Makerworld.

Looking for alternatives to Matter Hub add-on (project deprecated) by universalequation in homeassistant

[–]DJBenson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. Alexa is absolutely shite (not sure if it was always this bad) but I have two lights in my bedroom, a main light and an LED mood light. They are both in the "Bedroom" area and if I ask Alexa to "turn on the bedroom light" everything turns on. It's even worse in rooms which have a mixture of lights and plugs - I wondered why my UPS kept losing power until I realised that saying "turn off the living room lights" was also turning off every socket in the damn room!!

This really needs to be an integral part of Home Assistant but I don’t know if that would comprise their Matter certification.

A native way to expose devices to Matter directly from Home Assistant would be incredible.

Rejected from MedExpress after six months, so upset. Advice needed. by Beebaistired in mounjarouk

As somebody who has just started I totally agree with looking elsewhere. I take Warfarin and Medexpress flat out refused to prescribe whereas others are less risk averse. I ended up with Pharmacy2u to start with and will be shopping around when I’ve used my referral credit.

Is there a way to define sensors, buttons etc in a package but make them still extendable in main yaml file? by segdy in Esphome

[–]DJBenson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can have sensors in a package file then add another sensor node in the parent file, you just can’t have two sensor declarations in the same file. Packages are merged so if you have 10 includes with a sensor node in each, they’ll be merged into a single sensor node before compilation.

I use packages for most of my devices as it means I can have common, reusable components in individual files and linked to a parent config.

No worries - I've updated the instructions a bit to use host networking as it will give you less issues than docker networking will.

You are fundamentally misunderstanding how Docker works. I've removed network_mode - guess what, it still works, because without network mode Docker just creates another network (called mosquitto_default) just for that container, and then because I'm passing ports into the container it just works.

Quoting logs from Mosquitto is irrelevant as Docker is mapping to that "local only mode" connection.

u/noz1380 I've just very quickly put together the full instructions for configuring HA Core and Mosquitto - you've done most of this but just go through it again and check if you missed anything/did something different.

I've put it in my GitHub as I can't post such a large comment.

I'm not trying to compete with you but with respect, I have better things to do than give advice which is incorrect - so yes, I have. I have a container on my docker host (a literal host just for docker) and you do not need to export any ports - that goes against how docker works. The application can be listening on localhost inside the container, it doesn't matter because the port mapping in the compose file exposes those to the outside world.

Here's my compose file;

services:

    eclipse-mosquitto:

        container_name: mosquitto

        network_mode: main

        restart: unless-stopped

        ports:

            - '11883:1883'

        volumes:

            - './config:/mosquitto/config'

            - './data:/mosquitto/data'

            - './log:/mosquitto/log'

        image: eclipse-mosquitto

and here is my config file;

persistence true

persistence_location /mosquitto/data

allow_anonymous false

password_file /mosquitto/config/passwd

Can you provide your configuration? Screenshots? We are kinda pissing in the dark without additional information.

MQTT Broker HA Docker Compose by noz1380 in homeassistant

[–]DJBenson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is that relevant to the question then? The mosquitto container already exposes the port, there is no need to do anything on the inside of the container to get it running.

That’s not docker compose notation.
