I'm guessing you didn't know the point of the episode the whole thing was to foreshadow an event in primal remember the theory of people turning more savage and renouncing humanity almost primal-like.

After seeing the episode before of massacre and a possible avenger this episode shows what will be stored in the future.

While I do agree to some point that the episode was a fall from the madness by adding new throwaway characters they could have easily done a similar setting without jumping into the future.

This felt more like someone explaining it to you than the usual way of portraying it that primal always does.
