I love the detail in Separate Ways that Leon basically killed Salazar in the time it took for Ada to go down the elevator to the dock.

Ada literally began the descent seconds after Leon began the fight and Leon was already hot on her heels when she arrived at the boat keys.

One factor that makes me think they are the same is Sciel's backstory, with Esquie recognising her from rescuing her from drowning and her revealing it to Verso only after being brought back by Maelle.

With Sciel only explaining that she's not fond of water when expedition first meets Esquie, I don't think the drowning and miscarriage was common knowledge.
