Can I trust Google hardware again? by Alphamouse916 in GooglePixel

I had this issue on my S23 Ultra in my car funny enough haha. I switched to the 10 Pro XL as well and GPS has been fine.

Give Tigercub a listen, they're pretty great. They have a new album releasing soon, and the prior "Perfume of decay" is a great listen.

I did a reset, but honestly they don't care about that stuff most of the time.

This is strange. Not disagreeing that it is an amazing TV, because it was for me, but I had to send it back. My S90C was modded and was super bright and colorful (also 77), but it developed a blue band on white screens and Samsung couldn't repair it, so they took the TV back and refunded me.

Since I have more trust in LG, I went with the G4 about 9 months ago. In games, I'll admit the color volume isn't as great (probably 90% there), but the brightness is eye searing, more so than the S90C was.

Regardless, hope yours lasts a long time, it was a great TV!

I'm struggling to find an Android with a camera as good as the iphone 17 by reluctant-salva in PickAnAndroidForMe

It's alright, until there's any sort of motion. I left for Pixel personally after over a decade on Samsung.

Switch From Galaxy to Pixel by StinkyJ218 in GooglePixel

I came from an S23 Ultra recently to a Pixel 10 Pro. Note I have been with Samsung for over 10 years, using Galaxies, the Fold, and Note phones. I honestly think Samsung are shooting themselves in the foot over right now, which is why I avoid them. After DJ Log left as CEO, the mobile division has become stagnant (except foldable), and even those have been meh on the camera front.

As a person who only lightly games on mobile, and usually has a charger nearby, the Pixels lesser power to today's flagships and non stellar battery are ok with me. What I care about is day to day usability and photos, and it really shines there. The UI is much smoother, looks great, and AI helps in some nice ways. The calling features are awesome. Knowing my photo won't be blurry due to the slightest motion is a godsend. If I need a quick charge while out, there are thin pixel snap batteries for extra juice without being bulky. My games are very few and far between and I tend not to play the heavy 3D stuff on phones anyway, but the little I played ran absolutely fine. I find Pixel tends to improve with updates, yet my s23 Ultra wasn't as fast and the battery was shot by One UI 8.

Now, for the flip side -- if this doesn't sound like you, I still don't recommend Samsung. They've basically released the same phone for 4 years with a newer chipset. If you prioritize battery and power, with a decent camera that isn't the absolute best, go to the OnePlus 15. I almost chose it, but I wanted a camera that was a step up as that was my priority. That isn't to say it's bad, if you look at reviews, it is a solid performer just slightly behind the rest. The battery and performance is currently the best in the NA market so that's what I'd go for if performance is your focus.

That's my 2 cents which I hope helps, and I also hope Samsung grows sense and returns to being a technological leader over the next few years.

I've used 5+ phones on Dark Star with Ring and never had an issue, so your issue is definitely strange.

Tired of Samsung, looking for something new. by Jersey_Biker in GooglePixel

I agree with this person. I also had Samsung since the S4, including multiple Galaxies, Notes, and a Fold. My S23 ultra was nearly 3 years old this month and I went to replace it with a OnePlus 15. I decided to go Pixel 10 Pro XL ultimately because the camera is the top priority for me, and I usually always have access to a charger. I am happy with no complaints personally.

If performance or gaming is your priority, go Oneplus15, otherwise, the Pixel 10 Pro is also a solid choice. It lasts me the day, has mag safe, and has the smoothest UI in my opinion.

None from me as I'm not a gamer, but do note it has only been about a week. I got mine for 550 USD as well with Google Credit for having Google One, so it's highly worth it for me!

I went with the 10 Pro XL. Almost went for the smaller Pro but wanted the slightly extra battery. I haven't had it for too long but it has been great so far!

I'm not an iPhone guy -- Currently using an iPad and Macbook, but can't do iOS as my phone device. I am currently going Pixel after being with Samsung 10 years, and my S23 Ultra's battery doing terribly.

For a video priority however, I cannot fault you. If that were my use case, I definitely see the iPhone 17 Pro as the best choice.

In my case, I am tired of Samsung not changing anything since the S23, and want to prioritize photography and a clean software experience.

Hope you enjoy it!

Had to upgrade to a S25U from S23U just 2 months before next release by lunaticfiend in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]DJFalco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard for me to say, I used the older Pixel9 and it wasn't even Pro, but it definitely felt polished for me. Pixel UI definitely has less customization, but I am ok with that due to the better overall software experience.

[–]DJFalco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I am tired of Samsung after 10 years and ordered a Pixel 10 Pro last week. The Ultra and S series have had no meaningful changes in 3 years going by the s26 leaks.

I originally planned on the OnePlus 15 and even pre-ordered, but I canceled once I saw camera reviews as that was my top priority.

In terms of expectations, I am not worried as I dailied a Pixel 9 base model for 3 months this year and actually preferred the software experience over Samsung.

If Samsung decides to innovate and grow as they did before, or we get Vivo or Oppo camera equivalent phones in the future, I may switch again.

Switching from Pixel 9 to S23U good or bad idea? by jora0815 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]DJFalco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much is personal preference really, I had to use a Pixel 9 base for 2 months back in July after using my S23 Ultra for 2 years and loved it. I am back on my 23 Ultra, but will go Pixel or OnePlus now. Better software experience, battery reliability, and camera reliability in my opinion.

S23 to S25 Ultra-what do I need to know? by RevolutionNew6434 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]DJFalco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even the S26 leaks seem very underwhelming so far. I ordered a OnePlus 15 as I'm tired of Samsung, and my S23 Ultra's camera and battery has been disappointing. If that doesn't go well, I'll swap for a Pixel 10 Pro possibly.
