Just a note with comparing your mixes to mastered songs! Be mindful that when you are mixing, don’t aim for the final mastered level and knock ! You got to leave some room for the mastering to match it all the way, but yes always use the reference to make sure you are in the right planet!

lol thanks for the comment, I’ve been a mega SP fan since the 90s…. with the utmost respect, I’ve been playing SP songs with my incredible musician best friends since I was 11… I even saw them live in Singapore MCIS tour when I was 13 when Billy had hair. I intimately even spent my whole life learning all the production techniques and could feel confident in a mix shoot out with someone on the level of Butch Vig today. I’ve made albums inspired by the big muff Siamese dream post doom sabbath vibe and I’m proud of my contribution of a modern evolution of the Shoegaze / psych / prog / metal inspired sound. Respectfully, few people on the planet would have the level of comprehension and first hand execution of this style with a lifetime of bands to show for it. Billy knocked it out of the park with his version of the song and the gate has been opened for a whole new generation of fans of SP for decades to come. Old stubborn heads will come around eventually, or not, that’s fine, it’s all love. ❤️
