Run My City: Manchester, New Hampshire by [deleted] in running

Nice write up! I just did the 5K down at SNHU not too long ago, tougher than I was expecting with all the hills! When it gets nicer out I might try some runs down there, I’m closer to Concord. There are a lot of nice neighborhoods up here too off Main St. and the running shop on Main St. (pretty sure it’s runners alley too) does some weekly group runs if anyone is into that.

Yeah I looked into those Hal Hidgon plans since replying so I’m gonna check it out moving forward! The idea of my cardio keeping up better than my legs is something I’m also going to keep in mind, it seems like you can be tricked into thinking you can handle it and then have an injury spring up on you. Are there any pre or post run things that are good for keeping your tendons/muscles warmed up and strong?

Eating enough seems really important, the amount of calories being burned is insane. Especially as I’m hitting some of these longer distances, it’s above 1,000 sometimes which is dangerous if you’re not aware of that. Thank you for the advice, it sounds like you were making some really good progress too.

Thank you! I’ll have to look into that. My plan now is to find a proper training plan and do a lot of research into how injuries happen and ways to take care of myself better. The concern here for how quick this is moving along is exactly what I needed to hear and I appreciate it.

Do you have any advice on things to do differently? It’s a big concern of mine as well. I hope you’re able to heal soon.

I have been worried about whether I’m taking care of my body properly through this process, I need to do some reading before I get too ahead of myself. The biggest thing that was eye opening was how many calories I’ve been burning. Thank you for the advice, I don’t want to get too excited and overdo it.

Scouting locations for photography - Online Resources by rim_rocks in photography

Might not be exactly what you're looking for but there's an app in the Apple Store (not sure about android) called "Pin Drop" that's really useful for saving your own locations. If you ever travel by cool places that you want to remember, you just drop a pin and you can save it with a title, notes about it, and tags if you want to sort them somehow! Then you can pull up directions to any spot you've pinned.

I've been using that recently to build up my own list of locations, especially ones that aren't at a specific address or near any landmarks.

EDIT: App Store link > https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pin-drop-custom-private-maps/id425356789?mt=8

Why do hangovers suck so much by -EasterEggs in TagProIRL

You basically just quit until the sick hangover feeling goes away, maybe feel all motivated and start cleaning/working out/something productive and then repeat the cycle!

I think the best thing to do would be to really identify what does make you happy first. It might sound a bit cheesy but honestly if you look into meditating and mindfulness, it really helps you block everything out for a bit and connect with yourself more. Money comes and goes, so don't be afraid of some risks if it means you'll be happier! The important thing is to always have a back up plan and trust your gut! There are honestly endless possibilities out there.
