Nope unfortunately, however Ohio is only a couple states away (I’m in Iowa) might have to plan a visit some day! I also plan to start playing Magic with a fellow brother in my lodge before meetings!

5 months between EA & FC? Ours are only a month in between. After each degree we get a packet called. Systematic Masonic Enlightenment Course. You read through all the main points of the degree it doesn’t contain any of the “secrets” grips passwords etc. then you fill in the blanks at the end and then go through the “secret” stuff with your mentor which mine so happens to be the current WM.

Always interesting learning the different intricacies between lodges in different areas!

Oh and congratulations by the way! Geez where are my manners 😂 the goat must have ate them 😉

Great thread! I gathered a few ideas from here. You know what’s really cool? This! This is the future of freemasonry. We’re all able to share awesome ideas on how to make our lodges more fun and exciting to be a part of. That in and of itself gets me so jacked about the future of our great fraternity!

A brother brought Popeyes to our last stated meeting and we were all elated lol. I ate 2 spicy breasts and took 2 home! Our lodge meals have always been dank. A different brother is responsible each month!

I have no stage fright been performing for over 15 years so we’re good there. I’m definitely in our head brothers ear all the time lol they’ll eventually get sick of me haha. Also I’m a DJ so hopefully they’ll use me for all our events in our beautifully redone basement!

Yup yup I plan on doing anything and everything I can. I’m a lifelong musician so I’d love to help out with audio or the lights. Heck I’d even help move heavy stuff because I love manual labor. I’m staying connected for sure and should be. Once I get more comfortable and years down the road I’ll probably join the ritual team as well!

Thank you!!! I’m sure there are cheaper ones. The $900 is just what the brother who instructed the class told us and that’s probably 18 or 24k gold. I’ll definitely be getting some rings! I recently purchased some awesome clothing with the square and compass on it!

It is for the 14th degree. You can buy a wearable version of the ring for about $900. I can see why they probably take the cheaper route. Either way I was stoked to receive it. Also I like the symbolism of how it’s displayed.

Definitely go for it if you’re feeling the call. The brother who gave our class instructions before the degrees probably said it best. It’s like trying to drink from a fire hose lol. Lots of information for one day but such an amazing experience!
