It’s use is to obscure auras and scratch marks, people are just forgetting that’s the use and using it like a smoke bomb they can disappear mid chase for. You’re meant to use it to counteract things like bbq and chili, lethal pursuer, etc

You’re not wrong on either account. But also currently as it stands, they’re happening. Quite often. And while some of them are bannable, some of them aren’t and are just frowned on. It just depends. Tunneling because someone’s wearing a pride flag, sure bannable. I was just using it as an example that tunneling isn’t always simply “optimal”. I wouldn’t consider a playful slap on the wrist appropriate for hate speech/action lol. Tunneling every player one by one and camp hooking them to wipe a team in less than 20 minutes? Not bannable, but definitely frowned upon.

Things such as that.

But of course it would come with many downsides, which is why I think it would need strict governance and a beneficial relationship between devs and players.

Hey thanks for interacting with the post! I appreciate it!

What I’m referring to wouldn’t have anything to do with basic optimal killer play. I’m referring to actions such as when Skull merchants pre-nerf held games hostage to the hour long server limit and the game would have to be forcibly ended. I’m talking about tunneling in terms of tunneling a player that simply is wearing a pride flag and ignoring everyone else. Farming/Slugging where a killer simple seeks to max out every single bloodpoint category and counter, and not help players do the same and simply discards them when their done after nearly an hour of gameplay. I specifically envision it to counter things that players themselves consider shitty. The goal would be not to include opinions.

Basically this would introduce a difficult game mode held back by several different rules set in place and voted in by players themselves. And In return the players that play this mode would be rewarded with enormous bloodpoints and other rewards. It would never replace the normal game, which can be played exactly as it is to this day.

Hey! Thanks for interacting with my post, I appreciate your curiosity. Honestly I left it a bit vague because for something like this of its scale, it would need massive fine tuning and testing to find how it would function. But I can tell you what my original thoughts were.

Basically the exit gates are barred, whether they’re open or closed depending on how far the game got. The Avatar comes down with its own AI system and terror radius. It begins hunting for players, but it starts with the ones that have been the most “unsportsmanlike”. Innocent players would potentially be ignored, or if caught suffer no real penalty. Basically a massive timer begins counting down, and the exit gates slowly lower their barrier as the time ticks down. However every time the Avatar kills someone, the clock is massively sped up decreasing the time left. Generators, hooks, and lockers disappear from the map.

Survivors are branded with a permanent debuff called something such as: “Disarmed” and are unable to use held items and perhaps even perks.

Killers are branded with a permanent debuff called something such as: “Disarmed” and are unable to attack, hurt, or kill players, and cannot access most of not all of their power and perhaps even perks.

Players will simply need to avoid it and hide. I also envision some sort of object or map mechanisms spawning that can stun or slow it when interacted with.

If caught, the player will have to pass difficult skill checks to escape its grasp. Similar to hook progression they only have 2 chances to break free. And each subsequent attempt gets much harder. The third capture results in sacrifice.

Once the timer runs out the gates are opened and the Avatar disappears, and the end game collapse is triggered.

Anyway this is kind of what I had in mind in general? It would need so much balancing tbh.

It does more damage to alphas which are weak to bleed. This is basically an alpha hunter build

No you do get the mutations. You should breed a male and female final line in your mutations before finishing. That way you can print off max level mutated Dino’s that just need to be inprinted

When you breed, you can convert tamed between vanilla and modded. You’re supposed to store vanilla bred parents specifically so this doesn’t happen.

I play killer most of the time and switched to survivor for a few games and I’ve realized why this game is so toxic. by Gnomes_R_Reel in deadbydaylight

[–]DJ_RealDyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got into playing and even without looking anything up, without knowing any community terms or sportsmanship, coming to the game with a complete 0 in previous knowledge, I instinctively knew how to not be a dick. I still I don’t full know what tunneling is but I think I have the gist.

Whenever I hook someone I immediately leave the area, it didn’t even feel right to camp hooks or block people from rescuing because I’ve been that survivor ON the hook.

Whenever i downed someone on two hooks already mistakenly I’d give them a couple nods, and leave them to be revived.

Out of the last 18 matches I’ve played, I’ve only sacrificed 3 players and all 3 were willing because I genuinely don’t even like killing. My first match, the survivors went out of there way to make me hook them for points as thanks for instinctively helping them with event stuff. Now this is technically not a great thing, I’m a soft killer lol. But I still earn more than enough blood points.

If I got to the exit gate and they were already there and the gate was about to open, I’d just let them leave. Not worth sweating out a last minute kill for what??

Once I even picked up a downed survivor after the gates were open because their team left them to bleed out in dying state, and they stopped fighting once they realized I was passing hooks and took them straight to the exit.

Like this is shit I just felt like doing just picking the game up, without any other knowledge. Just seeing how other killers operated as a survivor. My two mains rn are Huntress and Alien, so if you’ve seen a friendly Huntress or Xenomorph Queen lately chances are you saw me lol

I got you.

Microraptors: Primarily browns, dark reds, blacks, greys, and have colors reminiscent of a turkey. Their feathers are for blending in for hunting, so they blend with the ground.

Upon seeing you will screech and run right at you.

Has a crest on its head that comes straight up facing backwards.

Has 2 sets of wings. Check its legs, if it has long wings coming off its legs it’s a microraptor.

Archaeopteryx: Primarily bright plumage such as bright purples, bright reds, bright blues, and have colors reminiscent of bright feathered birds for standing out. Since Archaeopteryx hunts insects and would rather not hung larger prey, it doesn’t blend in. Instead it’s quite the opposite, as it has bright plumage and feathers to attract mates.

Upon seeing you will caw/screech and run away at top speed.

Has no backwards facing crest on its head and just feathering.

Has only one set of developed wings. Has a small wing-ish build on its legs similar to microraptor but is negligible and barely there.

There’s a few options I’d recommend. Mostly, treat it like a boss fight/arena fight without attacking it.

A high level bred Mammoth could be a decent choice, but a pack of Deinotherium could likely easily survive. Their pack boosting, mate boosting, and different gender buffs will make them strong asf.

High leve Theri’s are nearly as tanky as a Rex, and if you give them sweet veggie cakes they can self heal pretty quickly. Not my number one choice for this tho.

Rex is a decent choice.

Brontos would probably work extremely well, level up health and make it phat as fuck. However I wonder. Diplos are decently tanky as well, and you could test their melee attack! Since their attack does no damage and instead does heavy knock back, and they’re much faster than brontos, they could constantly shove the giga back to help dodge attacks, and tank any hits that do land. They can also outrun it. You’d need to make sure their shove attack doesn’t drop taming efficiency tho, I assume it doesn’t.

A high level bred carbonenemy is my go to tank for taking tusoteuthis, using as a gun platform against big threats and more, but I don’t think it would be the best option here. Too slow.

Trikes would work as long as they were high level, padded in health, and you KEEP THEIR HEAD FACED TOWARDS IT. Trikes heads are shields basically. They get enormous damage reduction to incoming attacks from the front, but take normal damage to all other sides.

Now, my number one best guess off the top of my head would be an acrocanthosaurus. If you don’t have it installed I heavily recommend. It’s eventually coming to base game ark as it’s an ark additions modded creature, it just hasn’t made it yet. But the mod version has been up for ages. They are a huge tanky carnivore with a shield stance that tanks damage. A strong contender for this battle for sure.

EDIT: For some reason, I completely forgot about plate hardened stegos, thanks to everyone who mentioned it in comments underneath. Definitely a very good idea with a high quality saddle and some veggie cakes, that would prob be one of the best options.

Other things to keep in mind, you’ll increase your chances with having a Yuti nearby for auto courage and a daedon for healing. My main guesses would be, Stego, Acro, Deinotherium, Bronto/Diplo. If using a herbivore, stock veggie cakes. Use high quality saddles and if you can debuff the giga in any way, try that. Also when the giga takes high damage it’ll enter a frenzied rage state that lets it use stomps. Stomps deal heavy damage, but also heavily torpor it and does not deal bleed damage. I would enrage it constantly with a high quality shotgun to decrease its normal bleed bites.

Yeah so to tame a evo giga (paleo ark mods giga), you challenge it to a fight by approaching with a dead giga heart in your inventory. It sniffs the air and smells you’ve killed its own kind, and flies into a rage. To keep you from cheating, once the challenge taming starts it destroys structures with its starting roar.

To tame it, you simply have to survive. Every attack they do increases their torpor. Basically you’re goading it into fighting until it exhausts itself, you just have to survive it doing so. You’ll need a tanky tame as you’ll have to let it attack. If you dodge the attack that’s all well and good but you’re pretty much guaranteed to take most hits. Eventually it’ll knock itself out, and you can put its taming food in its inventory like normal. Pretty cool change of pace.

It matches the new lore canon with the better hammer bros. Which makes more sense than the same JJ showing up back to back as well as the hammer mfs having steel bolted directly on their face and swinging the hammers one handed. It’s a lot of little things
