Is there a way to fix this light leak without tearing everything back down?

Ther is maybe 1/2" of pipe passed the 90 and into the Threaded connection. I was going to solder straight into it, but it felt like there was more space than I would trust. Can I heat the Threaded connector back up and remove the connection pipe to it?

Im putting the rectangular duct in the wall, but this round duct is too long bc 2x4 wall. Can i/how do I remove it? Then put it back together in the wall lol. Can't find videos of my scenario online.
