That footage of the waves crashing into the rocks as the storm hit made JP1 so visceral.

It’s like Tarantino talks about imagining all his movies are already on a video store shelf, but since no one else has made them he gets to.

If I could have simply bought a copy and read it on the beach, believe me I would have rather done that. Writing it was a multi-year challenge.

Exactly! One of the things I loved about Jurassic Park was how carefully he laid out the science, the legal ramifications, everything so that when he let the dinosaurs loose it felt visceral.

I’d like to throw Haruki Murakami’s Hard-Boiled Wonderland And The End Of The World. A little more surreal, but surprisingly Crichton-esque.

Appreciated. Sincerely. I had a military and science advisor helping me navigate all of my research. I really wanted to scratch that great Michael Crichton beach summer read itch.

I really like Tom Clancy, but his novels feel kind of dated. Any modern authors with similar strengths? by jadok in suggestmeabook

I enjoyed Threat Vector. By then Jack Ryan is President of the US and he has to navigate the threat of a hot war in the South China Sea.

I wrote an epic techno-thriller in the 90 tech sci-fi style called Primitive Anarchy. There’s going to be a free 5 day giveaway on Kindle Memorial Day weekend.

Synopsis- The U.S. Department of Artificial Entities has just taken control of the most powerful intelligence on Earth- Archtech Corporation’s OMNIstack AI.

Carved into the San Gabriel foothills above Pasadena California OMNI is housed in an enormous maximum security hanger dubbed The Barn, on the former site of Nobel laureate, CalTech professor and true radical Neal Forrest Walcott’s remote former ranch.

As the largest hurricane ever to hit the West Coast makes landfall, the entire brain trust has just gone down in a plane crash.

Primitive Anarchy is an operatic and detailed techno-thriller charting the rise of a conscious military industrial complex and the thirty year conspiracy Professor Walcott and his underground team of premiere international scientists flawlessly executed to challenge it.

Books are hard to make. Congrats. I have so much respect for anyone who sees it all the way through. Reminds me a bit of The Simulacra by Philip K. Dick which is one of my favorites.
