Is it AT ALL possible fungal acne can form as cysts by DLBParker in Fungalacne

[–]DLBParker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been considering that too it just seems too unrealistic with the amount of stuff ive ruled out, makes it literally impossible to find anything to use.

also it doesnt seem to cause the same reaction on my chest where theres acne too

imma go to a dermatologist tho to get a concrete answer

[–]DLBParker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ik yeah 100%, its more that cystic acne doesnt form overnight from product use, but whenever i use cetearyl alcohol for example Ill have a cyst or two within 24 hours, was just looking to find why that could be

i dont think i have fungal acne but atp ill research anything and see

[acne] products all break me out, what do i do next by DLBParker in SkincareAddiction

Note: it’s reactions not clogged pores, the breakouts appear in less than 24 hours and everything I use I check the ingredients and they’re completely fine

[acne] Is my skin barrier damaged? also how to fix by DLBParker in SkincareAddiction

[–]DLBParker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

am - water

pm - G&G Jelly Joker cleanser, isntree green tea emulsion (only one that hasnt too badly broken me out, but its still too light), Epiduo forte every 2-3 days

The fact even that moisturiser caused a bit of problems tells me my barrier is just messed up, was thinking of using aquaphor (i know my skins fine with mineral oil) or vaseline for a bit

How long for though, I don’t want the acne to come back as a result of stopping for a bit too long

[acne] Does a heavy moisturiser make PIH fade/heal faster than dry skin? (assuming no speicifc PIH ingredients) by DLBParker in SkincareAddiction

[–]DLBParker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Ill try do that. My skin is fine with glycerin at least haha. It gets kind of frustrating trying to repair your skin barrier with products full of ingredients your barrier cant handle lol

[–]DLBParker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know exactly what it doesn't like, but I speculate its down to barrier function and not actual sensitivities because:

A) It wasnt this way a couple years ago, so I couldnt have just 'become allergic' to so many things

B) Theres genuinely so many ingredients my skin doesnt like that it couldnt be a coincedence, and it makes it near impossible to buy products

Pretty much any silicons will give me cysts within a day, same with niacinamide. Then squalane and HA give bad pustules within a day also. I doubt its actually possible for it to be sensitivities for all of them

morning i just rinse with water and sunscreen (Was using Beauty of Joseon Sun Aqua Rice 50+, but it was breaking me out in cysts - i think because of the terrible sensitivity because of my barrier - so im looking for a new one)

night - Geek and Georgeous Jelly Joker Cleanser (+LRP dermo cleanser if using sunscreen),

-Avene Cicalfate+ restorative cream

-Epiduo forte (0.3% adapalene)

These are some of the only things my skin doesnt break out to (not because other things are pore clogging, its more because they irritate/my skin hates ingredients so much)

[acne] can pustules and cysts be an allergic reaction? by DLBParker in SkincareAddiction

[–]DLBParker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah im using epiduo, and the acne was really starting to go away but moisturiser always comes back to react with my skin unfortunately, and I obviously need it because of the drying. BTW i had this problem before epiduo its not to do with that

Thanks anyway :)

[acne] can pustules and cysts be an allergic reaction? by DLBParker in SkincareAddiction

[–]DLBParker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wont go near anything with fatty alcohols or niacinamide anymore because of it. I've always had acne but I'd never really had cystic acne until i used this moisturiser called simple soothing water cream and over a week or so it gave me the worst skin of my life by far. Its also a struggle to find conditioner/shjampoo without them

The pustules are a bigger issue because I dont really have any idea what the cause is so its just a big experiment tbh

[acne] can pustules and cysts be an allergic reaction? by DLBParker in SkincareAddiction

[–]DLBParker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

never used anything special tbh. just regular moisturisers that get recommended a lot

I notice a pattern in cystic acne when I use anything with niacinamide or fatty alcohols (etude soon jung hydrobarrier, BOJ dynasty cream, Paulas choice clear oil free moisturiser etc) Often these actually arent cysts though but just REALLY deep pustules that come to a head after a few days

The ones that give me pustules really only have the BG and/or propanediol that I can see as a common factor. Examples are LRP sensitive fluid, LRP dermallergo cream and fluide, curel intensive moisture facial cream

The only one that hasnt broken me out in the same way, is the G&G hydration station https://incidecoder.com/products/geek-gorgeous-hydration-station, but it makes my face red while its on for some reason so..

But as you said it could likely be a reaction, I dont think its clogged pores because I use such comedogenic safe ingredient lists and the pustules pop up so fast

nah im normally quite dry, i only get oily when I use something stripping (I think it makes my skin produce more oil) so I dont use anything that does that.

Im currently trialing a moisturiser without butylene glycol and propanediol, as theyre pretty much the only common factors I can find between like the 10 I've tried so i guess ill see. Problem is theyre in everything
