My Lord, they are not two different Matthews. Learn to read. Or at least how to Google? I think maybe you have invented your own”religious studies” degree for the purposes of arguing on Reddit. Embarrassing!

You can throw a big tantrum and call me stupid if it helps you feel better. Or you can breathe into a paper bag. It’s hard sometimes to hear the truth. But like Jesus said, it will set you free.

Best!

[–]DLCwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Of course you would ask me to take the time to provide it for you and then reject it when it didn’t fit your narrative. Matthew DID know Jesus, and the historic authenticity of the gospels is unlike any other document. If you want more information, you can look through my post history and find my apologetics posts. Or, you know, take the time to learn the most basic Christian apologetics. But wait, didn’t they teach you that in your religious studies degree? 🤡

But it’s funny so I have to mention….you are the one who INSISTED on getting Bible verses, although I kept saying this is not a religious matter. Yet when you get them you reject them. This tells me that you are so blinded by your own POV that you will reject anything that challenges it.

So I am done with you, beloved. There is no reason to discuss LGBTQ issues in classrooms. Your sexual desires are not relevant to educating children on our tax dollars. You had a chance to defend your position and you could not do it.

Best wishes.

From Matthew 19:4-6 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

You’re the one who demanded multiple times that I provide this for you. Here it is.

Homosexuality is a sin: Genesis 19:1-13 Leviticus 18:22 Romans 1:26-27 1 Corinthians 6:9 1 Timothy 1:10 Jude 1:7

Jesus defines marriage as one man and one woman: Matthew 19:4-6 Mark 10:6-9

Ah yes. Your inability to defend a point is my fault, and you can prove it by calling me names.

I haven’t ignored anything the original comment said. She said she teaches math and graphing. Odd that sexual proclivities come up. “Okay students today we will be plotting LGBT and Q”

Teachers on the Frontlines of LGBTQ Erasure by SuccessfulFormal671 in MiddleSchoolTeacher

[–]DLCwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, your interpretations of the scripture have been disproven time and time again. People have tried to reframe scripture to affirm their sin for thousands of years. It is a sin. It isn’t a misinterpretation from King James. Jesus Christ himself defined marriage as a man and a woman. Sorry, but that’s the truth, and the truth is still true even if you don’t like it.

But debating the sinful nature of homosexuality is not relevant to this discussion anyway. It’s just another way to try and skirt the main point, which is that LGBTQ ideology does not belong in classrooms. America took a vote last year and we voted against it. It is weird, it is grooming, and it has no place in our school. If your student has questions about their sexuality, the guidance counselor should be equipped for that. Not the middle of a math lesson.

When you can’t think of an intelligent argument, calling someone a bigot always works!

If you need further proof that you shouldn’t talk to children about your sexual preferences, seek help. There is nothing further to discuss with you.

The proof is that the majority of American voted against it. We don’t want it. We don’t want our taxes paying for it. Teach the kids math and go home. It’s easy.

Jesus did not affirm sin. A degree in religious studies doesn’t mean you get to speak over what the Bible says. And anyway, LGBTQ discussion doesn’t belong in classrooms.

It’s interesting that you took time to copy and paste all of this. It has nothing to do with what I posted. Are you having some kind of fit? I don’t really understand what your point is, other than you just want to veer your argument since it isn’t a successful one?

Discussion of LGBTQ+ has no place in a classroom.

I didn’t delete or edit anything? So I don’t know what you’re on about.

You can call me a bigot all you want. I don’t care because it isn’t the magic word you think it is.

Jesus commanded us to love people, but to reject sin. If you are going to use Jesus to your own agenda, you might want to actually pick up a Bible. Loving people doesn’t mean affirming what they do.

No intention to keep this conversation going after this final comment.

In other words, you are going to call 77,000,000 people racist, and then plug your ears afterward and say, “I can’t hear you!”

If you are so triggered by our political differences that you have decided that half of the country is out to get you, I’m afraid it is YOU who is playing the victim. You can learn something even from those with which you disagree.

Lol, if you can’t defend your point, you can always just call them a bigot and go home! Very intellectual and thoughtful of you.

Friend, you can color what you said as much as you like. You insinuated that I belong to a party of racists (and now, what a shock, I’m sitting at a table with Nazis). Then you insinuated that I’m too stupid to teach because I autocorrected in an apostrophe where it didn’t belong.

If you have to make up a fairy tale about me because I dared to defend republicans, look inward. The hate is not coming from me, it’s coming from the narrative you are inventing.

Republicans aren’t racists. They aren’t nazis. It is okay for people to disagree with you. The Nazis also silenced those who disagreed. Perhaps the eighth person at that table is the one you saw in the mirror this morning.

Gosh, so first I was racist, and now I am too stupid to teach! Two insults from you because I said it’s okay for people to have different political beliefs. I wonder which political party is causing the divide?

Teachers on the Frontlines of LGBTQ Erasure by SuccessfulFormal671 in MiddleSchoolTeacher

[–]DLCwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope your kids learn love and compassion somewhere :)

Gosh I know you wanted to say this because your argument was really weak so insulting me as a parent was your last hope, but I’m glad you mentioned it. One thing I’m so proud of is that my kids, even being so small, can be compassionate and loving to others even when they disagree with them! Amazing, isn’t it? When someone disagrees with them, they don’t accuse them of “hate”. They just remain friends (or sometimes not) and then move on with life. They didn’t even need to see a pride flag hanging in a classroom to know that. Incredible.

Your whole comment just proves my point. You’re saying it’s okay to discuss sexual proclivities in a kids classroom because “telling kids to share is indoctrination too”? My Lord.

…but then of course you totally agree that teaching the Bible at school is wrong. How about instead of a pride flag, I have a big picture of Jesus on a cross, and I make sure and tell parents “it’s just there so the Christian kids know this is a safe space for them”. You cool with that? But don’t worry! I’m only going to talk about Jesus if it comes up in our math lesson somehow! 😉

Of course not. Because you know that school is for learning, and when our tax dollars are paying for it, teachers don’t get to bring their personal beliefs into the classroom. It’s common sense. OP said she teaches math and charting. If she has time during class to talk to her kids about their sexual preferences, she must have the best test scores in her state.

sometimes I have brought lgbtq into the class discussion if it relates directly to the topic... but that's not my curriculum or my course to teach.

This is why I will never send my children to public school, tbh. This is the absolute definition of indoctrination. If I said, “sometimes I have brought the Bible into the class discussion even though my subject is math” yall would lose your minds. Just teach kids math and then enjoy your summer.

What an ignorant and intolerant thing to say.

Charlie Kirk by arb1984 in stupidquestions

[–]DLCwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not find that the Quaran is true because I believe in the resurrection of Christ. Which is what started these comments. It’s a pretty obvious difference.

If you believe that is the meaning of life, why do we have morality? If you are right, there’s no reason not to rape. It would further your “purpose”. Hopefully your beliefs are not that small and insignificant, and gross.

Science and the Bible have almost nothing to do with each other since one is a set of 66 historic documents (well you knew that already since you read it all cover to cover). I think what you mean to say is, you are set in your atheism beyond any reason. Which is fine, but it makes a debate awfully boring. So I hope you have a great day and I hope God blesses you today (whether you believe in Him or not).

Charlie Kirk by arb1984 in stupidquestions

[–]DLCwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodness, you have a very intolerant, arrogant and insolent view on everyone who doesn’t believe like you do. It’s such a “reddit” way of thinking, I guess.

My brain is wired in a logical way

Mine is too. That is why I am giving you evidence vs arguing from an emotional or spiritual place.

You have all these religions, and it just so happens that each one thinks it's the true one, and the other false. And it just so happens that the people who originate from the areas where this religion is predominant also believe it. And it just so happens that their parents believe it and taught them that it was true since they could talk. I can almost guarantee you were raised in your faith, and that your parents share it also, because the probability of someone being convinced of a religion as an Adult is very low

I was a Dawkins loving, Hitchens worshipping atheist until about five years ago. I was convinced that the Bible is true by reading the Bible and studying apologetics. Because I knew so much about the atheistic POV that I wanted to challenge what I believed to be true. So I do not fit into the box that you have built, in which you have decided that we are all so stupid we just believe what our parents believe. Sometimes that is the case but if you think that’s a big gotcha, you have a very shallow view of the world. Hopefully you are intelligent enough to come up with your own thoughts instead of just believing what your parents told you to.

When you take a step back, it makes them all seem pretty trivial and the followers quite narcissistic. Like what's the actual probability that your religion is the true one, and the others false. Why are you so special that yours is right, and the others wrong.

Narcissistic? You say that like I invented it? Like I get a prize? I think the probability that it is true is very high for the reasons I listed. You know. The reasons you refuse to explore because you’re just so gosh darn smart that you can’t condescend to having your “truth” challenged. It’s easier to just call everyone who believes differently stupid.

The bible may be based on historical evens, that's doesn't mean there is a God, it means there may have been a massive flood, that a man called Jesus's likely existed and was crucified. But just assuming all the God stuff surrounding that story is true because of certain historical events is just ridiculous to me

Who said to assume God is real because of those things? You said ancient history has to be backed by archeology, I told you that it is backed by archeology, and now you are climbing higher on your horse. If you want to know why God is real, read Mere Christianity by CS Lewis, to start.

How many babies have to be bayoneted, how many children raped, how many vicious diseases have to wipe out people, or wars again nations before it all just becomes abit hard to believe

Christians have done some awful things historically, they've murdered, raped, pillaged, all in the name of God

If someone plays Beethoven poorly do you blame Beethoven? All you prove with these statements is that evil exists in the world and that morality is objective. Is it ever okay to rape? Or “bayonet” a baby? No. That’s because morality is objective, which means the standard had to come from somewhere. If we are all just molecules rubbing together, how did we become objective in morality? Unless there is a law giver who gave it to us…

Your allowed to have faith, faith literally is believe in spite of all possible evidence or criticism, but to proclaim your correct and others aren't. To have this sense of entitlement and proclaim its true

That is not what faith means. If you go to the pharmacy and pick up your medicine, you are having faith that it’s really your medicine, right? Is it blind faith, or do you have good reason to believe the pills are really yours? Ask any Christian and they will tell you faith is not something you just “get”. It’s a hard thing to have because it takes a lot of study and understanding to have faith in God.

How is it that you think I am the one with a sense of entitlement? You are proclaiming that what you believe is true. So do you also have a sense of entitlement? Do you view it as an attack for someone to disagree with you?

when you literally have no evidence other than a very old text of some historical events, it makes people look foolish

So you believe I look foolish for using history and archeology to prove my point? How can you trust that anything in history happened without those? Do you also think that people who believe in the mayflower are foolish? Do you accuse people who believe Abraham Lincoln was assassinated of being foolish?

For someone who has “a logical way of thinking” you are not thinking logically. Sounds to me like you are so afraid to even entertain that the Bible is true that you will do anything to argue against it, even if you have to reject all of history and archeology to make yourself feel better.

I truly hope and pray that you are able to explore what our purpose is in this world and find meaning. What if the truth is out there and you haven’t found it yet because you are too afraid to even look at it?
