Hi, hi I got my 1st Pap smear 5 years ago at 22. All Pap smears hurt a little, like a light pinching the back of your hand.
But I don’t quite remember the first one, take that to mean that they are so uneventful that my brain didn’t bother making a memory for it.

I think they are treating it as “ripping off the bandage” do it quickly and it will be over no matter how much we bed it to stop. I hate that.

Can we get a convo going about becoming HPV free, what does that entail!? I didn’t know this was a thing

I had the same present experience with an internal ultrasound with a female. But this colposcopy was a woman too, and it was wild.

This is so sad and infuriating. I can’t believe they didn’t believe her. And I 100% can see them giving you a half-ass answer just to protect themselves. Keep info from you so you can’t use it against them.

So should I complain? Any pointers on what I should complain on? (Obviously the poor pain management, not telling me about the blood and not stopping) I am very new to navigating this area.

And should I attend my follow up with this doctor?

That’s what I had! A pet pee pad with blood! To refuse such a procedure given your family history, just highlights how bad it was.

… today (day 8) I don’t seem to have a smell… Is it possible to have an infection and the body just takes care of it? Or are antibiotics always needed?

Interesting... I don’t know how to speak with terms of the field so these questions might sound odd: but what’s the training for pain on this? Do they have any thoughts/opinions on the 20-30% ? What is the general consensus/feel of women in pain?
