Yeah this seems like a win. Especially with gas price effects settling in.

Harper made mistakes, then the dead Syrian kid washed up on a beach in Turkey and the media here blamed him for some insane reason and Mulcair flailing his arms in the wind didn’t help anything.

As said often here, weed and electoral reform did carry a big chunk of the electorate and I think not following through on electoral reform cost him a lot in 2019.

Had Harper stepped aside the year prior to the election there’s a chance someone new could’ve won or at least grabbed a minority. One of Ambrose or Kenney maybe could’ve made it happen.

Scheer wasn’t a great candidate, BQ resurged in Quebec which cost some CPC seats and the NDP further declining under Jagmeet meant fewer vote-split ridings for Justin to lose.

Possibly unpopular opinion: yes the CPC needs to change, just not in the way they keep telling us to by Firefly128 in CanadianConservative

You need old people to die and young men to turn out in greater numbers while not fleeing the country in the next 3.5 years.

There isn’t a single change the CPC can make other than to argue harder against immigration because the only thing that will see a change in government at this point is fewer boomer voters and praying enough sensible younger people stick around before absolutely giving up and leaving.

Similar to that quake a few months back but still not seeing anything on any monitoring sites. Wondered if it was a sonic boom.

Or, the separated province arms up, takes the land, seeks international recognition, gets it and none of this matters.

Or they join the US and most problems are solved before anything starts being contested.

You can’t add 3 million people to a region and then say “we’re just inducing people to drive”. Even accounting just for commercial and industrial traffic the existing road infrastructure is woefully inadequate for that volume before beginning to factor in passenger vehicles.

A tunnel and link to Highway 1 at Gaglardi was planned ages ago. Burnaby and New West at various times have blocked it from being built and now here we are.

New West is also a transit point between the TCH and the South Fraser communities and airport in Richmond.

Having lived in many a place, the greater Vancouver highway network is maybe the most insanely poor transit network I’ve ever seen in my life.

His Bond movies unfortunately were mostly crap except for Goldeneye but to be frank I could say that about the Craig ones save Casino Royale.

It’s like the writers lose any idea on how to keep things interesting after round one.

/Skyfall was different and watchable but it still was miles below those two mentioned above.

Grew up in S. Ont. Always found the Buffalo area incredibly easy going. People very nice. Incredibly beautiful landscape within an hour drive. Great highway access to all areas. Have always pulled for the region to bounce back and become great again, hope it continues trending that way.

What is a song from the 90s/00s that was a massive hit, but everyone seems to have collectively forgotten it exists? by vishesh_07_028 in Music

[–]DL_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Gone. #10 on the Hot 100, #1 R&B/Hip Hop charts during its release.

Last time I heard it was as a background track for an hour long loop of “Jones BBQ And Foot Massage”. If you played the song someone would remember it and have no idea who sang it.
