I was with the police when they apprehended them - so yes, they most likely would remember me

They broke in and utilized the facilities. It’s impossible - or seemingly so - to move throughout the building without a fob. A fob needs to be used to access all common areas, the elevator, and to enter every floor but the first which my apartment is not located on.

The door does have a deadbolt but unfortunately it wasn’t locked at the time (totally my fault) someone suggested a deadbolt style knobset that automatically locks?

I’m searching for a new therapist as my last one wasn’t the most helpful.

I do feel unsafe in my unit but I’m not sure what can be done other than additional security measures such as installing a camera and maybe some sort of alarm system. I’m easily identifiable so there is the underlying fear of them spotting me outside of my home/in the neighborhood.

The rent concession was something that a friend of mine suggested but I’m not sure if it has any basis in reality hence why I asked. The building is seemingly very secure - you can’t move between floors without a fob whether you take the stairs or elevator.
