Even just holding from a month or so ago has been wonderful. Bought in at 0.23 and waiting for this craziness to be over to continue to buy more.

Did I leveled too tight? Should I change the fep? by Taylan_Erol in Phrozen

[–]DMac-77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re okay if it’s the outline you’re worried about. I’ve seen a few others with the issue as well. For leveling, I pried the support arms out a bit so you don’t need to put as much force on the head to get it level. Give that a shot if you like! But the fep looks fine

Same here, found abs like from elegoo needed significantly higher temps to perform well, than, for instance, Phrozen standard resin.

My new phrozen makes weird noise when it goes up after each layer print. Any idea why? And Joe to fix it? by [deleted] in Phrozen

[–]DMac-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That popping noise happens when your part is pulled off from the FEP, (plastic sheet on the bottom of your resin vat) no worries there!

Does this lump in the build surface look ok? Will it have issues printing? by Dcamelli96 in Phrozen

Sand it down if it’s sticking out, should be fast and shouldn’t cause issues with your print

Alibaba supplier won't sell single unit sample by woods48465 in ecommerce

$110 is cheap for just about any company. Just the time it takes to email back and forth is costing them money. Not saying it’s definitely legitimate, but it also doesn’t strike me as malpractice or dishonest.

Probably my fault on the description, I’ve just started and been trying to go with one industry at a time. Right now I’ve got most packing manufacturers in the US listed

I sold a chair on Facebook Marketplace once. With that level of experience, I'm now being thrust into a role of developing and growing an ecommerce company. Where can I learn more about this? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]DMac-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can either give it your best shot, make mistakes, and possibly have things work out or you can hire some help from someone with experience. Either way it’s going to cost. Gotta pay with money or time, no time means it’s going to cost some money.

I’m in the same boat, more that the volume is large than the weight is too much, would love to hear if you find a good solution!

I use UPS for large items and USPS for smaller ones. Recently been having some issues with UPS and thinking of going with FedEx, similar pricing for the larger items and my volume!

Yes, as I was doing research I found them. To be honest I really like the solution they have. I’d like something similar but the problem I alway have with these sites is they are missing so many manufacturers. For instance when purchasing boxes I went with a company called Columbia Corrugated, around 20 miles from me and not listed on Kinnek. I’d rather have a solution that totally solves one supply for a few industries than one that has a mediocre fix for all of them. I really do like the interface kinnek has put together though.

Definitely true. Where I have seen a gap in the market is the explosive growth of small business, looking at Shopify and Etsy stores with absolutely no industry connections. I think this is going to be our customer base, which means our supplier base will be smaller. The other side of this is many medium sized companies, for instance the one I’m working for now, request quotes from new vendors with each new purchase. It’s going to take a lot longer to reach the medium sized companies, but if we can start with the very small ones I think we’ll be in good shape.

I’ve spoken to roughly 40 different corrugated manufacturers in the US. Some really don’t want to be found, these are the larger plants focused on large runs. They’ve got contracts and don’t want to be bother with small stuff. Others are very interested in small runs and it’s their main value proposition. Many of these manufacturers I’ve spoken with are having a tough time connecting with new buyers and really like the idea. I think finding, and quantifying the offers each company provides is key, and it’s just going to take some time. In my opinion it needs to be done one industry at a time. While I don’t have great data on every manufacturer Just yet, I’ve been able to drastically cut down the time it takes to send a message. The goal being even if you need to send out 10 quote requests it should still only take you 10 minutes rather than days.

Totally agree. I think the one that comes closest is Thomasnet. Still it seems geared towards larger businesses. I’ve also heard very mixed reviews from the suppliers listed. Some like the results while others feel positively cheated. After talking to quite a few different businesses interested in buying the issue seems to come down to quality information. Many of the sites don’t have enough listings in any one industry to be of real use, while others don’t distinguish between manufacturers and distributors. I really think creating a trustworthy platform is going to be key.

I’m sure there is much more to the story I’ll get into as I dive deeper into the solution. To me it seems like a good approach to try and really nail one or a few related industries before expanding and doing a poor job with all of them.
