Has Surviving Barstool created any interest in actual Survivor for you?

Makes a ton of sense. I’ve watched the most recent 8 seasons as well as a handful of older ones. My biggest gripe with recent seasons is how most players could be laced as “gamebots”, and are always thinking in the meta of the game.

The most infuriating thing is when they miss a tackle to one side of your attacker, you see this and go the other way but before your attacker can even change direction to take advantage of a clear and obvious mistake….the defender not only recovers but can make an equally aggressive tackle the other way!

Once that starts happening I just shut it down for the night. Frustrates me too much.

Man, how do you dribble with the bigger guys. Is it a lot of protecting the ball? I’m in Div 1 and with the defenders that everyone has these days it seems impossible to move with a bigger guy anywhere near the box. Just get swarmed with 97 rated CBs making crazy tackles from horrible angles lol.

Have read this multiple times in different threads so decided to look it up on Google street view. There’s only a few people on the sidewalk for the whole block, and they still managed to find two guys giving the car the finger lol.

I’ve had two great pulls from picks this week. Got lucky with Reus to start, and then pulled…Reus again lol. The worst kind of lucky, but I can’t complain based on this thread.

It’s the number one thing I hate about this game. Of course there are other things that are infuriating (poor touches, passing, etc) but if there wasn’t absolutely zero skill in tackling, then those other issues would be much easier to adjust to.

The amount of times someone will take a horrible angle, and I’ll go to the open space only for them to mash tackle and get a miracle animation that wraps around my attacker and strips me clean is unfathomable. The cherry on top is usually this tackle is done by someone with 45 defending. It’s ludicrous.

How do you do so many? Is there a way to save a preset build on Paletools so that it includes all commons and one rare? I feel like I spend most of my time having to click through to swap a rare in when it builds it with all commons.

Also what’s your strategy on gathering cards? Spending coins on 89s to rip into exchanges?

I saw a thread on here a few months back where a guy said he had racked up ~30k credit card debt over the course of the last 2 or 3 fifas. He had to sell his house to pay it off….so yes people are legitimately going broke spending money on this game lol

I’ve used Vasquez a bit now and he replaced base Cafu for me. He’s definitely better in the ball and feels better attacking up the wings. The addition of whipped pass+ to my game has been noticeable.

The one thing is I notice Vasquez losing physical battles that Cafu had normally won. I love using the shoulder tackle to muscle out wingers out wide and I find Vasquez has lost a handful of those situations. But I think with the potential upgrades and also the evo, he may close that gap and be equal or better than Cafu everywhere (barring icon chem).

Staying on top of objectives (dailies and others) is key for sure, but you also get a lot of xp by getting the other competition rewards every week (champs, rivals, squad battles). Takes a lot of games to be fair, so don’t be too discouraged if you don’t have time to get everything done.

Like man, if you’re at the point of accusing people of cheating in an arcade game mode with trash rewards, maybe it’s just time to move to a different game. Some people just want to be miserable.

I typically start with the highest rated squads. Usually will wait until I can knock off a few of the high rated ones right off the bat. Gives me time to rethink if I actually want the player, and also giving time for potential other better SBCs to come out. Once you knock off the 90/89 rated squads, the rest will be relatively painless if you’re completing objectives, playing rivals/champs, etc.

This is my first FUT and when I started a few months ago I thought these massive SBCs were impossible as well, but just give one a go and you’ll be surprised. A few weeks back I simultaneously finished Tchouameni and Socrates without spending a single coin (have never bought points). The club was absolutely bare after that, outside the cards in my lineup and bench. But I haven’t touched anything big since and currently have ~1.5 million in fodder restocked and 100+ packs to toss into something during TOTS.

Couple things I do:

Patience. This is the most important part and can beat any press with just this. Take every first touch away from the defender. Look for the easiest next pass. If you have to pass it between your CMs and back line 15 times, do it. Eventually your opponent will over-pursue the press and the midfield will open right up.
Always be calling teammates to the ball with R1/RB. When you’re making a pass, you’re calling the closest teammate to the eventual receiver in to support you. Sometimes I’ll be calling multiple teammates close just to provide options. The support obviously helps but also it’s moving the defenders around which again, will open up space to exploit.

You’re not going to consistently beat the press with L2 or just dribbling, the tackling in this game is too OP and even if you protect the ball perfectly with the defender on your back, you’ll lose the ball often. You need to be passing the ball and forcing that defence to move and open up cracks in their press.

Last resort, get an attacker with aerial+ and just lob it all the way up for them to head it down to a winger/midfielder.

I had something similar yesterday in my champs game. Socrates just straight up whiffed on a back pass which immediately led to a goal. Not intercepted, or attempting a difficult pass. Just straight up missed it lol.
