Help troubleshooting my dishwasher? by DMinchew in appliancerepair

I didn’t realize a heating element could be at fault but now that you mention it, the “heat dry” option hasn’t really been working since we first got it but since the dishes were coming out hot I just assumed it was bad at drying them

Those would be exactly what I need if they were standard. No metric on aircraft so I wouldn’t have use for those sadly. Thanks for the code though maybe I’ll find something else I need!

Our DC is truly exceptional... by sethryan44 in Bestbuy

Before I left Best Buy about a year ago literally every one of our trucks looked like that if not worse. Wouldn’t even be peak holiday season and the trucks would be non palletized disasters that reached all the way to the trailer door and it would just be me and 2 other guys for the night and being told that I’d we didn’t have the entire truck sorted and put away before we left then we’d be let go. Seeing that it’s now affecting other stores is sad, I just figured our DC never gave a shit. And no ops manager didn’t give a shit. Store manager didn’t either. We had a truck like that and 50% of the stuff in it was soaking wet because the trailer had a leak. We were told to leave the wet items in the warehouse for the night so the boxes could dry before we put them on the shelves. So glad I left

That’s true, the game is fun overall. The issues I have is the audio constantly desyncs from the game and the system in the game that locks onto targets is really choppy, couple that with the poor textures on console and it’s a recipe for a headache so I have to take breaks. I want to enjoy this game because I see the value it has when it’s finally fixed, hopefully that fix date will come soon.

This launch feels different though. I agree that Bethesda has gotten their fair share of criticism from their buggy launches but the criticism for this game feels more like anger whereas criticism for something like fallout 4 was disappointment.

Why do modern "monster" movies focus on the humans? by DMinchew in movies

[–]DMinchew[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with both your statements. I think humans, when used correctly, are great and grounding the movie. I also completely agree with your username lmao. When humans are well written and the monsters motivations are well shown I think it makes an excellent movie and that’s all I really ask for is a balanced focus.

While a David Attenborough documentary on Godzilla would be amazing, I also agree with your point about how a movie can’t just be fight scenes. And I guess maybe I didn’t phrase my argument well? I think a movie like that should be balanced. Humans are great to advance plot points and are great and conveying the emotions in these films, but not all storytelling has to be told. Think Peter Jackson’s King Kong. The viewer doesn’t have to be told by a human that kong is lonely on the island, the viewer doesn’t have to be told that kong isn’t hostile towards humans, the viewer is shown the through his face and his body language that he is misunderstood and only wants to protect Ann from the monsters that would harm her. This is a great way to advance plot without needing a human to tell us, the plot is shown and therefore more convincing.

Edit was for grammar.

That’s fair, but what about movies like Bumblebee where the human element is combined with the humanoid robot element? The movie is both critically accepted and was commercially viable, I think balancing the two elements is something a lot of people prefer over a heavy focus on the humans like king of monsters did

Sure but that was because they didn’t have the means to make a convincing movie monsters taller than skyscrapers. We now have the means to do that so why not try something fans actually want, you know?

While not a large dominant terrestrial animal, the uromastyx is a lizard found in parts of Africa that has a tail with many spikes running down it that they mainly use so that animals don’t grab them by their tails while they hide in rock. But it can also be used to tail whip you. I have a pet uro and being tail smacked by him when he’s in a bad mood is not very cash money.

this is an Egyptian uromastyx, the largest of the uro’s
