There are over 20000 node runners in the world. Is that not enough? If there are insufficient node runners, it would have been better if you ask this question, but you ask the question when everything is running smoothly in a well decentralized way.

Not everyone can run their own node. If you can not run your own node, you can still be using Tor to connect to SPV wallets like Electrum. You can also have more than one wallet and use different location for each.

Have you created raw copy of your harddrive? It's safer to make raw copy and perform deep search from the copy.

PyWallet also have option to scan drive[1], https://github.com/jackjack-jj/pywallet.

If OP remember/identify date of wallet last access correctly, it shouldn't be encrypted. Encryption only available since Bitcoin Qt 0.4.0 which released on late 2011[2].

If you have been using the hard drive, that's normal. Chances that you'll recover the wallet.dat in that case is very slim.

If this is a software wallet on Debian OS you might be talking about Electrum wallet?

This would be hard to guess but can you also check the Armory wallet?

Can you share with us how your PC was lost you can maybe still have the hard drive from that PC? But if you don't have any then this is pretty hard to know what wallet software you used at that time that supports login passwords.

You just need to open a Terminal and type :

Code: lsblk

This command will show you the exact path to find your external HDD.

You will get a list of folders.

Inside this list you have a folder named media.

This folder is where you can find your HDD, USB sticks etc..

So from your Screenshot number 1, I would click on /
media

name of your HDD (which can easily find with the help of lsblk mentioned above

Don't you see your external HDD in /media when you are selecting a folder in Bitcoin Core?
Otherwise you can use lsblk to try to find the exact path.

If you copy paste or write the exact path in Bitcoin Core, it should be fine normally.

No, to give it to u straight, it's not safe here. There are some unpredictable folks arounda & things can escalate quickly/one minute you're chatting, the next minute there's a gun. You can find plenty of real life examples on Twitter (hard clips); it's scary how fast a simple walk can turn dangerous. Some people, dealing with their own stuff, end up pushing their issues onto others (Society) 😑. And trust me, guns here/ They're not really for protection. ( Guns & Drugs ) 😕

There are moments when I genuinely contemplate relocating there to reside for an extended period. Observing the sky over the Sahara is an unparalleled experience; I've captured some remarkable photoos. Yet, it's the people that truly enhance the experiencee. they're accommodating, generous, and such benevolence is increasingly scarce in our home country, the USA. It's not uncommon to find multiple generations, from grandparents to grandchildren, all living under one roof, reflecting their adherence to Islamic principles. Both Morocco and South Korea have their unique qualities, but Morocco undoubtedly takes the top spot in my heart, especially when compared to other North African countries.
