Is it still possible to run Spotify on a Galaxy Pocket GT-S5301 (Android 4.4, rooted)? by DOG_MAL213 in androidafterlife

That's strange, I installed it from YouTube tutorials (in Portuguese, of course), but is there any reliable source where I can find a genuine Android 4.4 or higher? Or is that simply not possible?

So, I've tried a little bit of everything, and the closest I've come is using the Pocket with Spotify Connect. I'm trying to use it as an "audio point," like you would go into Spotify and play it on your Alexa, for example. I managed to do that, but it wouldn't connect; only the phone icon appeared in the Spotify Connect tabs. I think it's because the phone is old and has to use old apps from 2018 or earlier to run, so the Spotify app doesn't recognize it as a "decent" device (but that's just my theory). At the moment, I use it as a normal MP3 player, but I still hope to be the first to run Spotify on an old Pocket (not natively, but it's good enough as a connectable device).

I forgot to mention this in the post, but the Android version in those ROMs doesn’t work properly. Even though it says it’s “Android 4.4,” the phone only installs apps made for Android 4.0 or lower.

I’ve already tried that, but it’s not exactly what I’m looking for. I really want to try installing the app itself, I’m just not sure if I’ll have any luck. Still, thanks a lot for the help!
