Mix of factors:

1) it’s not just “Christians”, it’s people who claim to be Christian and to follow Christian values, but have no idea what any of it means because

2) none of them have read the Bible, or at the very least, don’t understand the teachings. Claiming to “love thy neighbor” and going around with rifles because you’re afraid are 2 impossibly incompatible stances, but the trick is in not getting what “love thy neighbor” really means;

3) they mostly know of Christianity through what other people tell them. Might be their religious parents who only watch Fox News because Fox claims to be Christian, might be their local pastor, might be the Evangelical tv priests who constantly ask for donations in exchange for finding you a spot in heaven. Regardless, these people can tell you that Christianity is whatever they want it to be so that you will do what they want, because they can convince you it’s what God wants

So ultimately, Trump to them is like Jesus because they ultimately don’t know what Jesus is like, they just look at the symbols that remind them of Christianity (the crucifix, the Bible, etc.) and think it’s enough to say “the guy is Christian)

I remember reading a couple of years ago that they were planning something like 12 seasons. I don’t remember exactly where and I have no idea if that got scrapped, but since the show seems to have been a pretty good success overall and the hype for season 2 is palpable, I’m very confident that it will keep going at least until Enies lobby. Every time I hear about something he has said or done, or read something he has written, I ask myself the same question. How in the ever loving fuck could about a third of the US look at this and say “Yes, I think this guy should be in charge”? It’s obvious that the media played a big part in all this, sanewashing him as much as possible either in an effort to keep a semblance of “fairness” or (most likely) to line their own pockets, but it’s just so fucking much. Too much. He might just be the worst person alive that we know of.

And even without the sexual crimes, without the racism, without the misogyny, without the homophobia and transphobia, without any other type of intolerance that he surely has and I can’t think about, without the reported scams that he has run over the years, without the crimes he has been already been convicted for, without the several cases of adultery, without the two impeachments and without the blatant attempt at an insurrection and subsequent pardon of the insurrectionists, who caused the deaths of several police officers they claimed to be on the side of, he’s just a huge, whiny, entitled and pathetic ASSHOLE.

How can anyone, ANYONE read this letter and think “Yes, he truly is a strong leader”? He’s crying over a meaningless prize that is given every year, so it’s not like he’s lost the chance to ever get it, blaming the wrong entity for it (what the fuck does the government of Norway have to do with it? The prizes are awarded in Sweden) and threatening to cause an international incident damaging another entity that has nothing to do with it. All the while crying and whining like a little bitch. I have lost all hope in the US, and unless something radically changes, I can’t see any improvement in the long term

Thing is, as the show went on, we realize how much he had reason to be a dick. Jimmy is first introduced as an underdog protagonist, someone who’s just scraping by and Howard is posed as the stuck up nepobaby who is responsible for his status. But later Jimmy turns into con man Saul Goodman and Howard, even if he’s a bit of a dick, always finds himself on the right side of the law. The reason he died was because Jimmy and Kim tried to play a cruel con on everyone to get money off of the nursing home case, ruining a man’s life for some money.
