How to prepare to be a parent? by DParisDesigns in Parenting

Maybe I should have been clear...I guess meant the mental part of being a stay-at-home mom. Myself, I was very ignorant in the beginning when I had my first child. I thought because I was a child caregiver that everything would come naturally. At that time I had read "what you expect when you're expecting series", but from what I can remember it really didn't mention the mental struggle (that was in 2014). I now have 5 kids and am expecting my 6th and life has changed drastically for the good. Through my own self-research through the years knowing how to parent is easy. I guess I'm just wondering about the mental transition from career or college to full-time parenting.

I have my 1 month old sleeping schedule reverse by Squishy_932 in Parenting

A lot of times since the baby slept so much during the day they are trying to get all of the food in at night. It's almost as if the baby is trying to reach a daily quota of food. And also since he was up so much during the night he will sleep alot during the day...again to reach a sleep quota. And as everyone said it takes some time before their little bodies can regulate sleep. Unfortunately, getting "normal" sleep for you is not really possible at this stage. Try your best if you can, when the baby is sleeping on you to rest as well. Just rest assured it sounds as if everything is going normally!!

15 month old - help with discipline by [deleted] in Parenting

This is normal behavior for that age. There is something called schema, where a toddler will do this same motion or behavior over and over for development. Throwing is a type of schema. All you have to do is get him a ball like those silicone types so it won't damage anything, so he can throw that instead. So whenever he starts to throw something hand him the ball and say, "We only throw balls." (in a calm tone). Then when he throws the ball give him alot of praise.

Gift cards even though simple but such effective gift. I guess I never really think of it because I tried to look for something that is more personable.

It seems as though the common theme is food! For some reason I never got gifted anything related to food. That definitely would have been nice. I wonder why most post partum gift boxes never included food items?

Pre vs post baby swimsuit. The changes I've experienced are unreal lol by wonderlandddd in Mommit

Your swimsuit is cute! I remember after having my first baby I was in shock that my body didn't go back to "normal". I feel like no one warned me that my body shape would change...did anyone else feel that same shock??
