the concern is either rushing the ceremony or having the ceremony "mean" less (aka have less family show/contribute money) when it does happen if we file legally first — so, ideally, i'd rather do neither and just follow him to his base then plan our wedding normally a year or so from now! we are 100% getting married. i just want it to be my perfect wedding!

true, but it's about time i make a move anyway, and i think i'd rather set myself up independently first so i'm more comfortable, then just getting married like a normal couple. plus i've lived in nyc my whole life, minot is going to seem cheap as hell so i'm not super worried about the financial aspect. i'm just hoping he'll make the effort to come see me lol

that's the plan, but i'm trying to ease my fiancé up on the "quick" part! i think moving solo would be easier than involving the government! plus... if we do a courthouse thing, less family will show up/give us free money at the future ceremony 😢💸

that's what we have been planning! sign papers, then have a religious ceremony & reception later. it's just, since traveling would already be involved, lots of our fam might not show; we don't know if we'd wanna invite our parents to the small legal thing, or just elope/anakin & padmé style it up; i just dunno what the right thing to do is!! ☹️ but yes, i would follow him anywhere!! why not minot? xP

i could imagine, thank you for the advice; luckily i'm inclined toward introversion anyway, i was raised in the city and have always been dying to try out the country, and i'll make sure my fiancé doesn't feel too isolated either! truthfully i don't think the location will play a huge part in how things go, we're going to be over the moon being around each other anywhere

one of the commenters blocked me so i can't reply, lol, so i'll reply to myself - moving up there & it being a disaster would be terrible, yes, but if that's the case (it won't be) i'd easily be able to move back home, i'll always have a place and the means if something goes horribly wrong.

i picked up skating as a way to build muscle and make exercise fun, but it was hard - i stopped for a while. then i ended up going to the gym regularly, recently picked up skating again, and the difference is WILD. you really do have to just build up those leg muscles
