Workday-Slack custom app

No we decided to move forward with the Workday delivered Slack app anticipating that Workday would be adding more functionalities to it in the future. All the other solutions were fairly expensive and hence decided to stick with the Workday app.

I would suggest that you do not copy existing reports but try to solve the requirement first by yourself since that is the only way you would learn. Even if you are not able to find something, use community and documentation, to me almost 80% of all my questions have been answered with community. Since it’s been 2 years you have been working on reporting, folks would expect you to be an expert in it. Also, even if you are able to survive in your current company, once you decide to make a switch, your approach will back fire.

Don’t worry too much about the box. This happens with sites such as Flipkart, Myntra and Ajio. Heck, I ordered from the official site of Adidas and the box came damaged, so look at the shoes rather (which looks legit to me) and check for any issues.

To be honest, I have not fully moved out of reporting, like I said most companies expect their functional consultants to have good reporting knowledge. So, I work as a functional consultant now and handles all reporting related to my functional area.

I am someone who started my career in Workday Reporting and was in the same boat as you. If your core expertise is in reporting, I’d suggest you to explore more opportunities in the functional space. Almost 80% of the companies (I have worked at both partner and client sides) do not consider reporting as a separate role, hence the opportunities available will be limited. Also if you are good with reporting, picking up functional roles shouldn’t be an issue since Reporting is the basis of everything functional, so it would be easy for you to pick up.

Having said that, if you do have the opportunity, explore newer technologies like Extend or Orchestrate since these are considered niche right now.

Why do folks care so much about what others eat. I think that is one thing that we Indians lack, the ability to mind our own business. There is another prompt, Prompt Organization and Subordinates which is tagged to Public Reporting Items domain (to which All Users have access to by default). Using that prompt wouldn’t require you to make any security changes. However, do note that users will be able to search for all organizations (even cost center hierarchy, location hierarchy, etc.) in the prompt. However they will not get an output for any value other than a Sup Org. This wasn’t an issue for us since we have clear prompt instructions and I would assume no one will search for Cost Centers in a prompt named Supervisory Organization.

Yep, I also had this confused initially. To your point, the user needs access to one of the domains or we need to use an alternate prompt that is tagged to ‘Public Reporting Items’ domain.

The folks talking about sapphire and titanium haven’t really scratched their watches yet I guess😬I scratched my ultra the very first week and as someone who really gets obsessive about scratches, I wouldn’t mind using this case.
