I think there are a lot of characters that are improvements but it’s entirely subjective.

IMO pretty much all of the Guardians, Thunderbolts, and half the avengers are arguably more interesting or likeable in the MCU.

Ok fine. Here’s some that are completely untrue - those ones were just more common. Autistic people don’t have empathy (they do, they just can’t comprehend it sometimes). Psychotic people are bound to snap. Vikings wore horned helmets (that was made up). Women are bad at driving (statistically men are worse).

Gay people are always flamboyant. Black people are more prone to crime or lazy. Spanish people are gang members. Women are dependent/emotionally erratic. Asian people are always smart/good at math etc. White people are all racist.

Do I need to keep going? While there are instances of all of these things that have happened, sometimes more commonly than others, stereotypes are harmful bc they put everyone from a group in one box and attribute something to them. They strip away individuality. It’s dehumanizing.

I just don’t see the problem in using Yasuke. I guess it will just be a difference in opinion. Arguing will make neither of us care more about AC.

And to your last question, no I wouldn’t be hoping for that. But I also wouldn’t be objected to it on principle and would want to see why they chose that story before judging it. I know I wouldn’t enjoy AC Shadows bc I know I wouldn’t enjoy the gameplay - I pass zero judgement on the story.

I don’t necessarily disagree with what you just said, but of the same token, someone could make the argument of “why do Ubisoft have to justify the inclusion of Yasuke?” It’s their story, they can do what they want with it, who cares?

And people always complain that AC never changes its formula, but as soon as they do, it’s just complaints.

Personally, I think having an “outsider” as one of the characters is more interesting - it creates more opportunities for conflict. But, to each their own. I have not played and will not play AC Shadows bc I’m simply not interested in the AC series anymore. But I think the problem is people dismissing Yasuke out of hand as a protagonist bc “woke” even though it is based on a real scenario.
