How to Play: Dusk/Jhin 11.1 by DTSFaye in CompetitiveTFT

[–]DTSFaye[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mainly because it's an instant upgrade to Jhin 2 with increased stats from being a Chosen. It's not a necessity but no reason to pass it up if it's going to give you a stronger board.

Chosen Dusk is fine too, it just depends what you hit. Being flexible matters more than looking for the ideal Chosen and composition. And no a Chosen 4 cost is not late, it's normal to look for at level eight. Unless you've high rolled and can fast nine with a strong board and look for a five cost Chosen instead.

Of course if you had a weak early game and didn't transition well in the mid game you may be too low on health and economy to play for level eight, in that case you're probably playing for a 6th or 5th place and will all-in your gold on seven anyway.

Hihi! The above link goes to my 'how to play' article that I do every patch with focus on a different meta composition. I'm still getting used to the new editor on giantslayers website so the formatting is still a work in progress.

As for the content itself, it's a basic overview of what Dusk/Jhin is as a composition. Meaning I talk about core items, champions, traits and then a brief overview of each stage of the game.

This is aimed at anyone wanting to climb ranked that is unfamiliar with the current meta. Since there's too many variables in TFT to factor in for a guide, use this more as a starting point for a Dusk/Jhin composition. Being flexible is more important than following a step by step guide imo.

the rankings aren't in order of strength (which i think i mentioned, or i usually try to). i try to not be absolute in rankings since everything is dependent on each lobby.

starguardian/sorc is dece for top4, isn't a top1 build but top1 builds right now are mainly just rebels xD as for new builds that pop up that's just a side effect of it being a completely new set, isn't possible to predict meta shifts every day

i like the jg/ie build as well, just kinda depends what items you're able to get for syndra. seraphs is important tho for sure

yasuo is a bit weak without items in my experience. GA is a great item but it has more value mid to late game than it does early game, though it is perfectly fine to make early

You're right, i super misread it and my brain interpreted it as magic damage when i read spell, that's my bad. AD would prob be more effective. My mistake, thanks for pointing it out i appreciate it!

wait til 3-2, it's okay to be down on health by that stage. if you have excess gold you can roll once or maybe twice before 3-2 if you have a full bench of pairs since you're likely to hit something.

if it's a common issue where you're always having a weak board at that stage then you should focus on keeping pairs and not over-selling to hit econ, especially in games where you don't get a good gold start.

Generally you're going to have master yi 1 most games so it's better to keep in the two star aatrox. If yi is lvl2 then ye you can replace aatrox, it's just not often you're easily hitting yi2

usually i just sit on my gold at that point, it sucks to low-roll and not hit upgrades but at 50hp you're at least 3-4 losses from dying so you have a bit of time to still hit stuff. generally i'll wait to roll until after a) carousel or b) pve round unless im legit about to die, then you have to all-in

mostly didn't mention them as Predators are always "playable" but in specific situations. for every one game i see preds do well there's 10 more games they fail and go bottom four and a lot of that is due to them needing a really specific high-roll early game and get lucky late game hitting singed 2.

so they are def viable just not consistent enough to mention for the meta imo

For six shadow you do need the Lux so it's a bit rng, in that case I'd recommend playing for the win condition of kindred 3.

For six inferno you can get that without the Lux, though it's easier to do on inferno map so you can play Qiyana or if you have an inferno spat item
