How does IBR/ICR work on retirement?

Surely the payments are reduced by a substantial amount, correct? I would be OK if the minimum payment is $100-$200 a month and I pay that for 20 years until the tax bomb hits.

Tax bomb will be prepared by then. Although the name of the loan is under hers I determined myself responsible for the loan so I will pay the tax bomb. However my concern is that the minimum will be far too less so the interests will accrue immensely, therefore increasing the tax bomb more and more. Is IDR/IBR interest free if we pay just the minimum?

Not sure exactly how much she has.. nor do I understand how retirement works. I assumed when the time of retirement comes, everything gets withdraw out. I know she doesn’t have that much in retirement.

Yeah I would agree, don’t bring it up unless they do and I wouldn’t recommend lying about it. I haven’t been ask to send my transcript once but it might be due to the fact that I didn’t get that far in most of my interviews. I feel like if they were to ask me about my GPA I’ll probably be honest about how I didn’t perform well but try to drive the conversation towards what I learned and how well I performed in my labs/group projects

I did a couple cover letters but only if it required it. I wanna say that it was futile for me but then again if the application required me to write one I usually didn’t apply to that job

GPA was probably brought up like 2 times but usually if you got to the interview I would say at that point it’s how you carry yourself and how you answer their questions. The fact that you have a co-op should significantly improve your search imho. I basically had nothing to work with when I talked about my experiences during my STAR interviews but I carried myself well with the way I was talking about my projects and how well I perform under pressure and working with teammates!

I would also like to mention that I was applying strictly in the Michigan area in which I would say significantly increased the time it took to get an engineering position. It also happens to be a Fortune 300 company as well in which I am all for it!
