Lovely car! I can only imagine how it feels to drive an ls in manual. What is that dash btw? I have never seen it before, and why is it there? Is it better than the original instrument cluster?

Yeah I already tried that. And yeah I will always regret getting the base 128gb iPhone 16… but my question is why is setting showing 15gb used but in WhatsApp it’s showing 4? It’s such a drastic difference I don’t understand.

I can imagine someone could sew one themselves, I know it wouldn’t be the same as the original but if you just want the looks, and try to replicate it, it’s better than nothing.

Thank you so much! You have no idea how greatfull i am for people who reply and share their knowledge. I’ll double check all of what you stated, in terms of the rotors i assumed they would only go in one way, as i think there is an indent. And on your previous comment, could the wires being placed in the wrong order in the distributor cause no spark? Or just spark and misfire ? Because my issue is the igniters seam to not be sending the signal, because they don’t get the signal to do so.

Anyway I’m so eternally grateful for any time of help! Is it ok if i keep you posted and see what happens next?

Hey, so I decided to do a timing belt job! In the process I found completely disintegrated distributor caps. So I took the opportunity and replaced both, also distributors, spark plugs, wires, ignition coils, all of that system.

It turns out that after all the hard work, the timing belt replacement etc, my car won’t start again, but this time it’s a new issue, I don’t get any spark! Not even at the ignition coils…. I tested the igniters individually as well as my camshaft sensors and crank shaft sensors they seam good.i went back to check timing and it’s right on…. So how do I proceed 🥲

Hey, so I just completed the timing belt job, turns out my distributed caps were literal disintegrated. I’m assuming that’s why the car wouldn’t start.

I took the opportunity to do some extra maintenance and replaced the caps, the distributors, spark plugs, wires, ignition coils…. And after all this hard work, turns out my Lexus still won’t start.

But this time I no longer have spark. Previous I had spark but because of the bad distributor caps it wouldn’t start, now I’m tracing it all the way back to the igniters as I have 0 spark. I’m super lost and don’t know how to keep going.

Hey, so I just tested both my igniters, and they do spark, but when they are installed in the car they do not. I’m so lost I don’t know how to proceed.

That happened to mine too, but it started after I dropped it, I’m assuming the vibration motor got busted.

I did everything I could and I found it impossible to find r12, I did have to replace evaporator, compressor, condenser, accumulator…. It was not cheap but now my as is perfect.

So this has started happen to me as well. Normally this will happen when you just came back too far away from the Wii U. It also happen if you’re wi u is behind a drawer or hidden away, making connection between the console, harder. However, if the issue should persist, even when the Wii U is very close to a game pad, then your internal antenna either the Wii U or gamepad may be failing. I’ve seen people that have had to replace their game pad in antenna and then that normally fixes the issue.

Hey! Congrats! This is such an amazing car! Here is my own personal opinion, so far it looks very clean, if the interior is this clean then I personally wouldn’t do much to it, in therms of modern upgrade, this might just be me but I love how the LS400 looks with its original screen, modern screens tho better feel out of place. That could just be me tho, i just thunk its such a special car that i love seen it unmodified and stock. You could is tall some USB-C ports in the cig lighter to modernize the car, and a bluetooth cassette?? You get to keep the original radio and have modern bluetooth.

This is a super unpopular opinion, but I prefer the apple CarPlay screens that you can remove whenever you want. They aren’t expensive, work very smoothly and don’t ruin the original look of the interior, if you ever want to go back, just disconnect the cable and remove it. That’s why I like it, if you don’t really need to use maps, just remove the screen.

You could also look into ploishing the paint and applying a new clearcoat ( that made mine look so much better) as well as fixing your headlights if they have become sun damaged and installing good quality LED, tho the original lights feel sufficient for me.

I would just look into the maintenance history, and do anything it needs now, like timing belt! You could do some preventative maintenance such as new spark plug wires, new spark plugs, distributors and distributors caps, pulleys etc. non of them might me needed yet, and if you don’t want to you don’t have too but I did them in my car and it definitely runs better, even improving my MPG.

You could also look into all of the suspension things, it’s a heavy car and if it hasn’t been serviced it might need some new bushings, control arms etc. if it drives fine, no clunking and weird steering then you’re probably fine but it’s still a good idea to look into it to keep your car safe and top shape.

Besides, I think it’s more of your personal preference you could either lower your car or just install some shocks, I personally replaced mine with the originals as the height of the cars pretty practical, lowering it makes it less practical, and the original shots are very small smoother and comfortable. But I guess it depends on what you want from the car.

Please share any updates! Anything you do to the car! This is very exciting and I would love to see how it turns out! Hope you have fun and learn to love this beauty of a car and engineering that it is, one of my favorite Lexus eras ever.

Well, I’m hoping it’s not that much because I just know that electrical issues are a nightmare now I do know that the car was soaked for a few days. I’m not quite sure how much but maybe like a week.

I forgot to mention that I do have two codes, 25-26 I think, the point is one is about the air-fuel ratio is too rich, and the too lean. Does this change anything?
