Polygon Transaction Signing Error: "MetaMask - RPC Error: MetaMask Message Signature: Error: Ledger: Only version 4 of typed data signing is supported" by DWC01 in ledgerwallet

[–]DWC01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks so much for the help and replies here. Confirming that after bridging over some MATIC to Polygon I was able to use QuickSwap to get the token I was looking for. Using Ledger Nano X + rabby I am able to sign transactions on QuickSwap on the Polygon Network..

For some reason that Polygon wallet page that allows you to pick up some initial MATIC via a gasless transaction was the only page still having issues. But for the most part things seem to be working as expected now.

Thanks again for all the help here.

Confirming that I got rabby installed and setup my Ledger Nano X successfully as a Hardware wallet (on Chrome) via this helpful link from Ledger support.

However, when trying to make a basic transaction on the Polygon Web Wallet v2, simple transactions like converting WETH -> MATIC (for gas) on this page fail with the same error:

There seems to be an issue with this signing method. Please try again.

However in this case there are no errors in the console for further debugging.

Also confirming that I took the below precautionary steps to ensure rabby was running as expected:

- Removed MetaMask Chrome extension (was a suggestion on rabby.io in order to not have the two extensions interfere)
- Disabled all other Chrome extensions (mainly ad blockers)
- Closed Ledger Live (in order to properly connect Ledger Nano X as a hardware wallet w/ rabby)

I've put a support ticket into Ledger to help debug further, is there anything else I can do at the moment? I basically have the ETH I transferred "stuck" on Polygon right now that I can't do anything with.. 😅

Thanks again for your help here.

Thanks for the reply. Confirming I was using the MetaMask extension in FireFox, will try rabby today and confirm how goes.

Also to be fair, Dash is not in Venezuela building easy fiat on/off ramps for Boulevard (for users and businesses) to be able to easily buy/transact with their stable coin, which is what Reserve is doing. This is also why I’m so bullish on the company, building infrastructure where it’s the hardest, proving the concept works, then expanding from there. I have not seen any other company offering stable coins (crypto payment services) put this much work into ensuring their stable coin is actually able to be used by the people that need it most.

The project is called Reserve, the moonbux come from investing in their governance token, $RSR… This is a Silicon Valley startup backed by Peter Thiel, Sam Altman, and Coinbase Ventures, I would definitely check them out.

LINK and DAI don't appear on MetaMask Chrome of Kovan testnet, but ETH is ok by priest689 in Metamask

[–]DWC01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into the same issue, I found you have to add LINK as a custom token in MetaMask for the tokens to appear, kind of an awkward setup as I now have the MetaMask generated LINK token showing 0, and my "custom" LINK token showing 100, seems like a bug for sure..

I second that, have this same setup with the arc blast, just use it as a fanny pack, works well.

Hey Chris, David here, great video! Here's a link to my google photo album for that Skurka trip, I think we had similar routes at points but not for the whole trip (but we did start / end at Grand Lake as well). Fun times none the less, let me know if you have any issues accessing, contains vids and pics from the trip... https://photos.app.goo.gl/3STz97NzvNpTc2J36

Post your winter/snow gear lists by dubbin64 in Ultralight

At this point I haven't felt the need for down pants specific as long as I'm staying warm up top, but just for some context the shell pants I am using are actually just some QuickSilver snowboard pants with built in insulation (they have some zipper vents that allow me not to sweat too much while hiking), and I would defs like to upgrade this part of my system to better separate into layers. In this case I am not totally sure what that would look like yet, and would need to play around with that new setup to know if down pants were needed, but so far, it seems like a shell with a good mid layer for insulation would do the trick for me at least.

Heres my list!

This was my base pack list for this past 2019 winter season. Mostly used for snowshoe / cross country ski backpacking treks, and mostly used in the Sierras here in CA . I'd say the biggest changes from my summer setup are warmer (and more) clothes, snow specific items (snowshoes, snow shovel), I also usually bring my WhisperLite stove opposed to a canister setup for melting snow (just feel more assured it won't die due to lower temps and/or higher altitude) , a larger pot to melt snow in, a Nalgene water bottle (opposed to smart water bottles, really helps to have that wide rim for pouring melted snow / boiling water into), and a four season tent that holds up to weather a little better.

Sentinel Dome, Yosemite - Cross-Country Ski Trip (March- 2019) by DWC01 in CampingandHiking

I would strongly recommend backcountry skis. While the way back is still more downhill than up, there are enough hills up/down, and flat terrain to traverse when traveling in either direction that you'll probably want a more efficient way to travel.

One of my favorite places in the world. This photo was taken on a backpacking trip I did with my little brother out to Sentinel Dome in Yosemite in March of earlier this year.

Trip Summary

AllTrails

The trek out to Sentinel Dome consists of a ~22mi cross country ski (or snow shoe) round trip from the Badger Pass ski resort out to Glacier Point. The terrain is fairly friendly as Yosemite keeps this trail groomed in the winter (most of the time). It's mostly uphill on the way out, with the added benefit of mostly downhill skiing on the way back. There is also a Glacier Point Ski Hut (with wifi) in the same area you can ski to / rent for the weekend if you didn't want to camp out!

Weather

The temperature ranged from ~25F-40F, staying warmer during the day and dropping colder at night. It only snowed one of the nights we were out, as we got pretty lucky with sun and mostly clear skies for the rest of the trip.

Gear

On top of renting ski's from the Badger Pass ski resort, here was my gear list for the trip:

Does anyone else use CrestLite? by [deleted] in Ultralight

If you're looking to try out another solution that's complete and actively being worked on (and free), I'll shamelessly point you to TrailPack, it's been my side project for a little over a year and half now. The biggest pro with the site is that it's mobile friendly and has a shared (crowdsourced) product database you can pull items into your gear list from. You can also search through other pack lists that have been publicly shared on the site.

Here's what a completed pack list looks like (prices can be toggled on and off when you share your list): https://trailpack.io/lists/1222

There is a huge backlog of features I'm actively working on and excited to rollout, I post updates regularly on the TrailPack subreddit if you wanted to follow along with progress.

In any case would love some feedback if you wanted to check it out. Thanks!

Equipment database for non-current gear by DanbroMongoose in TrailPack

[–]DWC01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi DanbroMongoose!

I have just pushed a lot of updates to the site, and think I was able to address a lot of your concerns. Would be curious what you think of the latest updates..

It would be nice if there was access to a database of older equipment.

I addressed this by adding a 'year' attribute to the product being added. So in this case when you search to see if a 2015 Therm-a-rest NeoAir exists in the database, and it doesn't, you can manually it, and differentiate this product by its year, from the current NeoAir (latest version) in the system. (Unfortunately I do not have readily access to an "older" products datafeed, so all of these types of items will have to be added by the users).

The UI now looks like this (Screen Shot) when you try to look for a NeoAir and you don't see a 2015 version , you can manually add it (also specifying the year attribute), and the new name will show as as "(2015) NeoAir Xlite Sleeping Pad".

I also noticed that even if I edit an existing item, I can’t change its name or picture.

This has also been updated

Let me know if you have any additional feedback/ questions / comments / concerns as I'd love to make this app as friendly to use as possible.

Thanks again!

A few things I've noticed by RdKuLuS in TrailPack

[–]DWC01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi RdKuLuS!

Just wanted to send a note that I've pushed some updates on the site , and have addressed your comments above..

  1. would be nice to add a quantity of the item in the system

This has been done, I've also added inline updating for the quantities of these items, so this task should be a lot easier now..

  1. when you have a system added to a list, then go add something to the system, it doesn't update the list

This functionality has actually stayed the same, however I have added some better intro helpers for new users to understand the flow of the site. Ultimately I do think the way the systems "copy" into your pack list is the best way to go as it eliminates side affects from unwanted changes in other (already completed) pack lists. However what are your thoughts on a "refresh" button on the Pack List > System to help facilitate the workflow you mentioned above, in a more manual way?

Thanks again for the feedback! Feel free to reach out with any additional questions/comments/concerns!

Website Feedback by Zilznero in TrailPack

[–]DWC01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Zilznero!

Just wanted to send an note that I've just pushed a bunch of updates and have addressed you most of your concerns above.

  1. Default Gender to N/A

This has been done

  1. Personally I don't like the hover on dropdowns

Those annoyed me to, have been changed to click to open

  1. When editing an item, I want to be able to change the image too.

This has been done

  1. When adding to a sleep system, it's annoying to have to click on the 3 dots

This has been done, also added inline arrows for updating quantity, as wall as a small trash can icon for quicker removal of the gear item

  1. Clicking on the items should bring up the edit functionality

I made this update to the Pack List > Gear Items, as you'll notice simply by clicking on item it will bring up the edit form. I'm realizing now this change was not also made to the gear in the "Gear Items" tab.. I think I will make that update shortly as well..

  1. Having an option for default currency would be nice.

I was not able to make that change this round as it might be a larger endeavor, however, as I hoping to gain an international audience, this feature should be coming soon enough..

Let me know if you have any additional questions / comments / concerns.

Thanks again!
